Does pinging a site is helpful for SEO?

I have seen some members are sharing pinging site on different webamster forums. My query is does pinging a site helps to provide any backlinks or rank to that site?

 

I've found out that pinging a site is very useful for SEO purposes. It is a good way to gain backlinks. However, I am not sure about the sharing of a pinging site that you make reference. How are they sharing a site to ping?

 

I mean they are sharing lists of sites which enables to ping your site. Anyways I will try to ping all my sites url to get backlinks from those sites.

Pinging is making some blogging sites aware that you have updated the content on your site.Nothing about backlinks but its great for faster indexing of your content in search engines especially in Google.

 

yes indexing is most important at www.onlineutube.com

 

It does about as much good as repeatedly smacking yourself in the head.

 

I've experienced a few people in my travels that have had some varied degrees of success smacking themselves in the head.

 

If you use yoast plugin for wp it will be ping the big directories (if set) just go with that. I sometimes use pingler.com but haven't seen much boost in serps because of it, though it does ping some good sites i.e. google news etc

i use some pinging services such pingler.com
and i have a premium account with them
i ping from time to time, however my indexing is working so good even if i stopped pinging
but does it effect my SERPS or does it make my keywords looks better in search results pages ???

 

No the ping will help your to fast indexing and back linking , if you use wordpress or smiler script that you can active auto Ping system with blog ping list ...

 

Google does not like you to ping.

Pinging give indication to Google about your new post. It is like you throw your post in front of Google. It is helpful to index your post soon.

I usually submit a new sitemap to Google after a major redesign for on-site. For offsite I'd avoid pinging newly built links, they work fine for a while, but when you ping too much, even with so-called drip feed from experience have a slight chance of sinking the site when you are unlucky.

pinging site is beneficial for blogs but if for website it does not very effective. Pinging the website means to invite a webmaster for crawl you website.
When you post a Blog, its must necessary to crawl you content as soon as possible before some one copied it. so if ping the blog on search engine than your content is self and beneficial for SEO.

 

What happens when you begin Pinging Your Website

1. Some of those websites add your blog in their directory giving you a one way link.
2. Some of those websites list your blog in their recently updated blog list.
3. Search engines quickly come to your blog, index it and start sending traffic.
