When building a website for a client, do you ask them to provide you with the content or do you research their company and type content for them?
Depends on their budget. Unless they have experience writing content, you'd want to sell them on including that as part of design/development services.
Depends on his requirement if client don't want to on-line advertise his website. Then we write content in low cost .
But obviously the client knows their business better than you do. How do you get the information to write about their business? Do you take some bullet pointed information, perhaps some information brochure (if they even have it) and turn it into web page content?
This is a really good question. I always ask for any photos and videos they want put on the website. Same with written content, most small businesses I know preferred to write their own website content. However it is becoming popular for small businesses to pay someone to manage a blog for their business. At least, in my area.
As everybody here said above, it depends if client wants to have his design and development agency write copy for him or not.
