    1. Cover health issues when you are yourself not a doctor and cannot hire a doctor to write articles?

    2. Promote health products and services when you dont have compelling content?

Well some people "fake it until they make it" in other words they don't really know about a topic but they pretend like they do. In other words, if you're lucky you "learn while you earn".

    A) PPC - if you have an offer that is proven to convert.
    B) Outsource for the expertise you need.
    C) Your #1 Job is to drive traffic to an offer that converts.

    Best of Success!

As above.. outsource to a content writer who does know what they are talking about... other than that, read up on subjects yourself so you are at least familiar with them, find an article and re-write it (but make sure it makes sense).

Also don't allow people to ask you questions directly on the health subjects if you know nothing about them, wont go down very well if you try to give advice when you know nothing

I wouldn't feel comfortable giving advice about a health issue i didn't know anything about. I guess some people are more interested in making a quick buck than providing value for money.

Re: the 1st point, giving health advice if you're not a doctor and the rest... I'll just say that undoubtedly all of the doctors I've known have been very well-meaning. But the very best and most helpful advice I've had these past 4 decades have not come from doctors.

As a note, when I go for check ups, doctors tell me one way or another: 'whatever you're doing keep doing it.'

As for content you provide or you're thinking of providing, when you read it over yourself, does it grab you? Most useful test.

OP, it may be more helpful to think of yourself and site as a Curator of health information available from many different sources (think Yahoo Answers, etc)...personalized with your own comments, questions, pointers to more info and expert opinions. Consider focusing on one topic. Start a discussion forum on the site for others to contribute their opinions, experience and expertise. Gain expertise as a 'Connector' and leverage that in further marketing efforts.

    We have a winner.

You can find tons of content about your topic and then add your commentary, opinions, etc.

Example, If you were covering the "Yeast Infection" market. You can find great content on a wide variety of authority medical sites, and alternative medicine sites. You can compare the different information, discuss it, and then give links out to sites for further information, including to your affiliate offer. In this field, you can find items on Medical University websites, from herbalists, dietitians, Wikipedia, and government publications.

You don't have to be the expert. You just need to be a commentator and direct people to relevant information. (Is Google an expert or do they direct people?)

First do a lot of research on topics articles and do a bit of study on health issues and health products, you actually should own the product or know enough about that topic before trying to profit from it.

You don't have to be an expert but you have to make sure that if you are going to give information that is accurate There are a lot of medical sites on line but most are run by health care professionals. You may be able to hire someone in the medical field (like a Registered Nurse) or alternative medicine to help you.

That would be a false statement. There are a lot of medical sites online and the most informative ones are run by health care professionals might be accurate. But, your statement is so far from accurate.

It is almost like saying "most IM related websites are ran by people making over $100,000/year", we absolutely know that is false.

If you do a search for any common medical condition and start reviewing the websites offering advice it will quickly become apparent the majority of them are run by:

    1. People with the issue and discussing it.
    2. Marketers
    3. Major information sites that have included content about the topic to attract visitors. (Think EHow, EzineArticles, Wikipedia...)
    4. And lastly, sites by actual medical professionals, medical research centers, and hospitals.

I want to contest your last statement, too. It does not require a medical professional to make a highly informative accurate medical information site. It requires someone willing to do the research, verify their sources, and relay the information accurately without a marketing spin. Which then goes back to your first statement, by doing the right research you actually become an expert compared to the general public.

Think of it it this way. The average person might spend 30 minutes researching the topic of the different types of warts and how to get rid of them. Someone who spends a few days researching the topic, produces great content, and does it accurately giving appropriate resources, is an expert compared to that first person.

I'd highly suggest anyone that creates a site like this use a Medical Disclaimer page on their site making it very clear they are not a medical professional and they are only sharing information they have carefully researched. They should advise their readers to visit with their doctor about any medical problems.

I don't do that, and nobody should :) The ones they do it is because they want to make money... they're not really thinking of consequences and stuff. Much like when using spam may not look bad you just click a mouse button.

You don't have to be a doctor to give common sense advices.
You mean you to make million dollars online before you can promote IM products.

My take: Give sensible advice with disclaimers.

Hmmm, once again I feel that is not a very true set of statements.

Some people do websites on issues like tinnitus, Alzheimer's disease, arthritis, because they, a friend, or family member is afflicted with the problem and they create a site to discuss their journey, treatments they have tried, and their opinions. Are they trying to make money? Are they "not really thinking of consequences"?

Just because we are marketers, does not mean the entire world is.

I've made money selling a product on how to naturally choose the birth of your baby by up to 94%.

I of course don't have the slightest clue about this niche but after reading some content, I can now tell friends why they had boys/girls.

it's not about "knowing" about being an expert in the actual niche. It's about knowing how to use current resources and driving traffic.
