Contest Brainstorming design contest - Selecting upto 3 winners. $60 first prize

I'm looking to make a custom Keytar and have been having some creative "writers block" so I thought a contest for design ideas might help me along. I'll attach an image for ideas, but feel free to google Keytar for other ideas and what they are if you're unfamiliar with them.

There are some SPECIFIC things I want from the winners:

First, it needs to be a Vector file (AI is fine, Possibly some CAD formats, PM me)

Second, it needs to be TO SCALE in Millimeters.

Third, it needs to have (at minimum) a rectangle for the keys of exactly 684mm wide by 162mm high. If you want to put in keys for illustration that's cool, it's 49 keys, but the main thing I want is the outline shape and box in proper proportion.

I want shape / design ideas. I'm not looking for clip-art ready stuff, just properly dimensioned shapes that look appealing. Feel free to trace/tweak the ideas in the picture as entries, that's part of the job is getting stuff in a polished, dimensioned shape. I'm not an AI pro. These ideas need to be actually usable, durable and producable.

    Contest examples.jpg

If I get enough appealing entries, I am very open to awarding additional prizes. ($20 minimum each)

Every prize winning design (or designs) will be 100% my property for use as I see fit.

I will close this contest on March 3rd, and pay via Paypal in USD.

Thanks! Hopefully this will be a fun challenge for some of you.

EDIT: Added $10 and extended the closing date.

Interesting, thanks for the design. You're putting a lot more detail into it than you need to. I like the neck stuff. You don't need to put the pads and knob stuff on there though, I won't be making it like that, just need a shape that flows well with the specified rectangle dimension of the keys.

More importantly, the keys rectangle is crooked on the top which needs to be perfectly square.

Sorry I wasn't very clear. The wire outline pics are enough of a shape for this project, just need to be sized right and cleaned up. (those were really wavy)

Here's a bad looking design with the minimum expectations met, for clarity on what I'm asking for.

Notice it's in millimeters and the rectangle is properly sized according to my specifications in my first post:

    Untitled-1.jpg

    Hope this helps!

Feel free to sketch out multiple designs.

    Thanks!

Nice variety of entries Crowcril, would you or someone mind doing some variations of the example pics, especially the 2 white outlined ones and the 2 guitar shapes? Thanks!

Edit: I may extend the contest a day or so due to the slow start.

Any other planned entries from anyone? I don't have a clear winning shape, but I plan on giving at least a second prize if things continue as they have been, hopefully even a third.

I'd still like to see some variations of the example pics, especially the 2 white outlined ones and the 2 guitar shapes.

    Thanks!

EDIT: Bumped, Added $10 to first place prize and extended the date to the 3rd.

Crowquill, I think your keybed boxes are screwed up. The latest version is not square, and I suspect your other versions were not the proper size. If I chose one for an award I'll ask for a fix of that so don't worry about them for now, but for the future you may want to address this.

Also, I would really like some LITERAL copies of the guitar pictures converted to keytar shapes (with room for the keybed rectangle) as well as polished up, 90% copies of the two white outlined pics.

Feel free to download the sample pic and trace it if that helps.

If people are confused on what I want, re-reading my posts may help give clarity on this. I'd hate to see wasted effort because they "saved" time and didn't read what I wanted.

    Thanks!

while interesting, this is not a literal version of that outline. The angles are different, the points are different, the neck is really thick and the head is longer and shaped differently.

    Sorry it took so long.

I'll work on some more similar to the images you posted.

I just noticed you updated the specs of the guitars, i'll update my designs.

    No worries man.

Please read my requirement #1-3 in my original post for the answers to your questions. The keytar is as big as it needs to be to hold the keybox, or bigger. When you make a new illustrator file, you can make it use millimeter dimensions and size the box accordingly. The rest of the size goes from there.

Also, please make the shapes so the keybox is straight, and not at an angle. This will help me down the road, thanks!
