Not possible for Indian PayPal account. And no use of keeping paypal balance in Indian account as you can't send using paypal money.

For people living in Australia, it stays in your balance by default and the withdrawal is done manually...

Indians can neither keep their balance in PayPal nor use it.
I'll be happy, if someday this rule will be changed.

It is possible if you receive small payments often or may be on all cases. You could just mail Paypal about this and they will stop auto withdrawal on your account but obviously it wont be on higher amounts but upto a certain level it can be done. Try e-Mailing or better call them to know if this can be done. For better results mail on higher dept email ids (just Google for them).

To call the Paypal Support or send Email to hold small amount at your Paypal account after the amount reached, will be withdrawn to your bank account automatically.

Add another Bank account and verify it. Then you can select it as default account to withdraw $$.

I have called the customer care to ask the same.
They told "According to RBI (Reserve Bank of India) guidelines you can't hold money in your paypal a/c.
Auto withdrawal happens just after midnight.
YOU JUST CAN'T STOP THAT
