I think all seo experts agree that promoting international website is more easy cause u use international/English keywords and tags for promotion and because all directories and submission sites accept them But when you need to promote other niche related and targeted website in special language, for example in Russian and for Yandex (SE in Russian), how it is possible to organize? I need more professional recommendations? Please share your experience and opinion!
SEO for foreign language sites is little hectic and cumbersome. You have to look out for all the English alternate for your website for off page techniques. Though things are little easy when it comes to Social media optimization. Because websites like facebook have foreign language options. I know its hard to find multilingual websites for backlinking. You can try using Google's advanced search option Also, you can use 'Keyword Country' for finding foreign language websites.
There is an unused goldmine of non English keywords out there in universe.that yu can easily rank in Google. All my local language sites are succesfull and rank very well, while my English sites getting very little traffic.its much more time consuming though
I have been working on a multilingual blog I just see many keywords of like 900+ keyword searches rank well with out too much effort. In my view the competition for NON english keywords is still not that much as compare to English terms. Proper onsite optimization is surely key specially when it comes to URL for a multilingual site.It at times become abrupt. In addition to this like JIM added offsite SEO tactics. MATT CUTT clearly said in one of his video. "What a non english site have to with an english site".Be very very careful about your link profile if your whole site is in other language.
When you ranking websites in languages other than English by using English websites - how do you write the keyword anchors? In the original language or do you translate the keyword to English?
Ha, keep going with this it can be a goldmine. Ive heard they speak Portuguese in Brazil, and that there are some crappy sites with hardly any backlinks occupying very high serps positions, for some massive keywords. I don't bother buying the countries domain extension, I don't try and get hosting from the country im targeting, I don't try and get links from sites from that country. There is no need. I write my articles, get a translator from odesk, and get some links from High Pr domains. Keywords that would cost thousands and thousands of dollars to rank in English can be targeted for next to nothing.
What do you mean by an English website? If you are targeting a keyword in a foreign language you have the whole site in that language and of course the anchor text in that language.
I used the same process for creating Anchortext.I do not think I have rights here to share URL or can add the site as an example that helps you better. I have ranked many multilingual posts on this site.I have 6+ posts coming on that blog daily.I can not optimize all.I pick one per week and do some link building/sharing and bookmarks. What I am trying to accomplish is Better and better Domain Authority.
Hello friends Nice information provided you all.. But i have a query. I am working on a website of Brazil and the language of that website also in the Brazil.. And i am not familiar with that language. Which strategies i use for the submissions? And in which sites i do submissions, in English or in Brazil language?
I have experiences with both, Google and Yandex. For the most part, Yandex beats Google for Russian-language queries. So, i know many Russians who use Google when they search in English, but they use Yandex when they search in English. Anyhow, I would looks at the SE market share numbers for the country you're targeting. Then, if you optimize for Google, but in another language and another region, select the appropriate language and region in the seo keyword software you are using (if you can). For example, in Google adwords tool, you can set Russia as your region, and Russian as your language, and see how many people there search for your keyword there (Google can tell what language they speak by their OS and IP) Then, if somebody wants to optimize for Brazil, do the same. Find out what search engine is number one in Brazil, learn how you can optimize for it. Then also see how many people search your keywords on Google from Brazil in Portugese (which is what they speak in Brazil).
Thanks for reply, I have done keyword search of Brazil. Can i do forums in the English queries but target my Brazilian keyword in that?
Rajni, of course it will look strange in there are links from English-language forums going to a site in Portuguese. You should look for backlinks from websites, blogs, forums, directories and other types of sites in the same language. Some directories are international, but that's a different story.
However, it is not too tough as well. SEO is based on competition.. if there are less sites in any language on any niche then the competition would also be according to that.
Thanks, I was confused to target keywords of the another language in the English forums.. But you solve my query..
