Loyalty? It doesn't matter how long someone has been a member for. If they didn't contribute, they didn't contribute. Loyalty for making a bunch of crap posts in General Chat just to gain access to BST? A spammer/scammer could have been a member for six years, but they are still a spammer/scammer.

It's not as if three likes are difficult. Shawn rolled out a much simpler requirement. Maybe annoying for those who made useless posts and waited two weeks before (hence no - or not enough - rep/likes), but not difficult to overcome. Three likes and a member for at least 48 hours. That's all.

That would make a really good husband/boi friend. :D .... on a side note. I did work for a guy on DP all the time... and he had zero posts. Not sure if zero posters can PM (start a conversation with user) now, but if they cant, he will have to change his methods.

Would you rather have a boyfriend for 4 years but you had "no good times" over that time? Or a boyfriend of a few months but you had plenty.

The only advantage of old users being given special consideration would be for the holders of those accounts who would then sell them. After all, they hadn't used the forum, it means little to them.

Psh, yeah that's a joke. You're not a senior member because you remember your old ass password from years ago. Because obviously with 39 posts you don't log in often!

I think it's a mere point to get people to post more quality. As for "seniority" the forum is huge and I don't see how a member who has been here 6 years with 40 posts, or 12 years with 52 posts for example deserves privileges more so than someone here for 6 months with 142 posts. I've never seen a forum have user classes or privileges built off time they've been a member.

So you want a boyfriend "whose member" has longevity"? Hmmmmm, I think maybe I'm reading that wrong.

I believe DigitalPoint is just making a sincere effort to make the posts, threads and content on this forum helpful and beneficial to the web community. Many forums just have a bunch of comments and threads for the sheer purpose of post count for links or advertisements. I could be wrong but I thinks that's what the aim is or goal of DigitalPoint right now and I see nothing wrong with that. If someone decides not to participate in forums for the benefit of the internet web community, that's fine with me as well. No one is obligated to participate in these forums if choose not to.

The whole point of the new system is quality over quantity. How long ago you registered is a measurement of quantity, not a measurement of quality.

On a side note, I want a boyfriend who looks like my avatar.

"quality over quality" is fine but you ought to be more concerned with quality over *quantity*.;)

And here it comes the best suited example ever
    Boyfriend - User account
Relation period - User registered date.
    Real life - Forum

I was wondering, what's the probability for an aged user (let's say 3 years old) to spam here compared with a new user (let's say few months)?

@SpoiltDiva, I couldn't agree with you more(indicates my highest agreement) at the point of 'The so called older members should not be rewarded just by virtue of their joining date when they have no essential contribution in this entity'. I would like to denote the DigitalPoint as a entity instead of 'site' as well.

Suppose we think DP is a business entity which belongs to 'X'. As a owner of DP 'X' will always reward the employees who provide good efforts to run the business. As well as 'X' usually have the most common strategy to arrange some gift/reward even for transactions of the customers for motivating. Now the point is how can a employee/customer expect a reward/gift without any contribution/transaction?
