    check it out here: http://source-wave.com/

This dude is all about facts, case studies, and proof. Not theories like the rest of them.

You'll pretty much learn everything you need to know from this dude. It's pretty crazy! lol

I wish I could meet someone who works in Google in their ranking algorithm department and only then I was able to talk about facts otherwise nothing is fact, all is fake or based upon our own experiences :) anyhow seomoz is a great site to take guidance and also seorankings (somehow not that good too) but personally I don't rely on any tool and don't know why simply I don't rely...

SEOMoz is simply the best place to learn on the web. Between their tutorials, blogs, and the user contributed blogs, you will find plenty of information to help you learn and get started with SEO. I visit the site daily and would recommend it to anyone.

As a few have mentioned, SEOmoz is good and there are also case studies (in the blog and YouMoz sections) and also dejanseo.com.au/blog/ has some case studies, too. For keeping up-to-date with industry news, searchengineland.com is second-to-none. Anything you read about (especially on forums) research, research, research. Find out if it's spam, look for case studies to see if actually works and to see what Google/Matt Cutts has said about it. Even buy some randomly named domains and do tests yourself, if you feel in doubt. (It's also a good way to learn.)

Just go to seomoz.com and claim your seo starter guide. You can also find a wonderful guide on advanced seo on quicksprout.com. You can also claim one from google. Google also provide an seo starter guide, which is very nicely written.
