Am I The Only One To Not Understand Anything About The New Forum?

I really hate this new version of the forum software, and I'm not talking about the recent customization DP did, I'm talking about the forum software itself that many other forums use.

Ever since the last update I don't think I've ever been able to find my "Subscribed threads" which was simply "User CP>Subscribed threads" in the previous version.

Where in the world do I find my subscribed threads now along with all the rest you used to have in the "User CP"?

    Thanks

Click on your username in the upper-right. Pup-up menu with "Watched Threads" is what you want.

That doesn't list any thread at all, yet I know for a fact I'm subscribed to many threads. In fact I accidentally found out how just minutes ago and it did list all my subscribed threads, but it will take a miracle for me to find this place again.

By default Watched Threads shows stuff with new replies... if you want everything (including stuff you've already read), the "Show all watched threads" link on that page will do it.

    Thanks, that seems to work.

The way I accidentally found them earlier was going to my profile (which other than finding a thread I'm subscribed to to click on my own name, I have no idea how to get to my own profile) and then there was a tab called "Postings" which showed my subscribed threads.

How do I get to my own profile page without first being on a thread I posted in to click on my own name?

BTW no one answered the question, am I the only one to absolutely hate this new impossible to navigate design? One thing I hate the most is they disabled all keyboard shortcuts, I'm used to using the keyboard only for many things, this new forum forces you to switch between mouse and keyboard all the time. If this is an attempt to prevent automatic posting, people that want to do that can easily get around that, so it's really just making the forums harder to use for everyone.

BTW I'm not complaining to DP, but to the company that made this atrocious last version of the forum software, it's an absolute nightmare to understand even though almost all forums I visit upgraded to this new nightmare.

    Thanks

Also click on your username name in the upper-right ("Your Profile Page").

Give it a couple days, you might like it once you get past the "omg it's different" phase... I was the same way actually. :) Or maybe you wont. :)

I think I've been using this new forum for over a year if not 2 or 3 (whenever websites started using it) across several different websites.

I guess I just need to re-learn where everything is but it used to be so simple rarely requiring more than 2 clicks to get to where you want to go, now you need to popup menus, click a menu item, get to another page, click another link from there, etc.

I'm not sure I'll ever get used to it after however many years it's been out, at least now I kind of know how to get to my own threads.

    Thanks

To be honest, I actually haven't seen anything yet that requires more clicks for anything (I certainly did not do an exhaustive study though, so there might be something). But for example your subscribed threads here is very similar to vBulletin (old software).

    Current system:
Pop-up -> Watched Threads -> Show all watched threads

2 page loads away from anywhere...

    Under vBulletin/old system:
Settings/UserCP -> View All Subscribed Threads

Also 2 page loads away from anywhere (page logs are about 300% slower in old system).

The only way it would be any closer in either software would be if you put the direct link on every page, and really not something that people would go to often enough to warrant it.

In fact most stuff to do with your account is 1 click away (under the pop-up), while in vBulletin it's 2 clicks since you had to first go to the UserCP, and then where you want to go (things like signature/profile editing, etc.)

I guess since the popup isn't a page load (or even a click) things are still 2 clicks away, but in a sense it's still an extra minor step, but now that I know it'll be much better. The main problem was that it could literally take me 15 minutes to find my subscribed threads, if I didn't give up by then, and it was always in an over complicated way requiring many many page loads before I finally found it.

    Thanks

Well like I said... all that is more just because things are "different", not necessarily worse placement. In fact it took even me a good amount of time to get comfortable with the new placement of things. But now that I have gotten used to it, I'm not going to lie... It's a bit painful going back to vBulletin sites now (besides the placement of things, vBulletin tends to be quite a bit slower than XenForo).

I needed about a week or so to get used to new features, but once you get it, about the same as old DP was, nothing much easier, nothing more difficult
