Absolutely not, they should all be deleted and a sticky at the top of the forum telling anyone that starts another thread asking and moaning about the same old crap that they will be banned

Actually these type of threads do serve a function. Many newbies and members without the required 3 likes read these threads to find out what's going on. Without them they would be creating new threads on their own to find out the answers.
But I would agree that *new* threads on this subject would be akin to overkill. I say we keep the ones we have now, and perhaps put some caveats on any more new ones.(duplicate thread)

Think we need a 'dislike' button too and de-establish people who spam! haha

It's been explained a million times, the like button doesn't show until you are an ESTABLISHED member with 3 likes of your own from ESTABLISHED members

It may have been 48 hours but you have NO likes from anyone yet, it means 3 established members have to "like" 3 of your posts

Oh, yes I love the 3 Likes Rule, but mostly it's because I love all the whining that comes along with it. I know, I'm mean. But gah lee, it's fun to watch. :D

Yes I understand but I have been here for almost 3 years can't you just make it for the newbies? Anyways guess I am going to have to start making friends and posting in other forums on DP.

It's all about quality, not quantity... Length of time you have been a member says nothing about quality, just quantity. If you really want to use Buy/Sell/Trade without contributing anything useful, you can via premium membership.

Wellllll, if there weren't people here making it an interesting/helpful/informative place to be, you wouldn't have this platform. So if you wanna keep it around, you might wanna reconsider your contributions or lack thereof.

    im 50/50 about it.

I understand they are in place to help prevent scammers etc
but i had a +1 on the old iTrader system and its no longer there.

now it seems as if its created a "like" now but i was happier with 100% feedback from doing business (the reason im here pretty much)

And the only downside to "likes" are that they CAN be handed out willy nilly

Its not there though, here is a link to my sale thread
i even gave the winner +1 aswel (and vice versa) and yet it says i have no transactions
    https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/looking-for-paintball-logo-20-30.2558577/

so now i have to somehow gain 3 likes on topics i have no intrest in :(
ive been on here for years (on and off) and have only been intrested in buying or selling
not much i can be liked on for those factors

The Buy/Sell/Trade are was always *intended* for contributing members to post their stuff for sale from day one. It's why in the old system you had to be a member for 14 days and post 25 posts before you could use that area.

The reality is that 25 posts and 14 days isn't really a great gauge for someone being a contributing member. You could post 25 pointless posts and come back in 2 weeks and you were good to go...

The intent of the Buy/Sell/Trade area has not changed, but we now have a better way to measure who is a contributing user... that's the only thing that changed.

In fact, you can get into Buy/Sell/Trade faster now (2 days instead of the previous 14 days). And users can also get in there with a second option of premium membership if they absolutely have nothing useful to contribute to the site, but still want to use Buy/Sell/Trade (that wasn't even an option before).
