I have been on here for quite a while now, reading as much as time allows with the odd post by myself, I tend not to ask too many questions as most answers can be found in the stickies or on other posts. The general advise on 99% of posts state the benefits of doing quality back linking. Whilst I can understand this I don't recall anyone giving an example of what a high quality link looks like. Anyone got any live working examples of a link that is a SEO dream ? Don't have to be their work, I would just be interested in seeing these highly sort after high quality links in action and try and understand more why they where targeted. It may help genuine new people on here come to terms with the difference. Maybe there are some posts on here already and I just have not read them yet, if there is then a link to these posts would also be useful.
A strong link comes from a highly authoritative sites, with a massive backlink profile. For example if you were offered a link from this site: It would be a pretty good link. Relevancy plays a huge part, if you are able to get niche related links from good sites. The amount of OBL counts, the lower the better. I prefer to get the link in the first couple of paragraphs, if coming from a post, although I have no evidence to suggest it is more effective (hard to judge)
Agree somewhat with @jamesbrands. It's hard to give lots of examples because different strategies work in different industries. There's also evidence out there in the SERPs that quantity over quality can work. Certainly true in the short-term. They don't tend to work well together though. You need to pick one and stick with it. Ultimately, if you've any ounce of common sense, it should be pretty obvious what a 'quality' link is. Take a look at the site as well as the stats. There are plenty of sites out there with 40+ DomainAuthority and good PR with plenty of backlinks. On the face, they look good. But taking a closer look, you may see that the content published on the site makes no sense. Maybe the archives only go back a few months. Have a closer look at the actual backlinks, not just the number. Maybe they're all from foreign language sites, link networks or no-followed blog comments...etc. Always do your research! #1
And here we go.. we start all over... I saw this question asked many times... But I must admit that I never saw someone asking for an example.. nice idea.... Before all I must tell, once more, that all this discussion have no solid ground.... This days any guy that have a registered here or any other seo/marketing forum consider it self a webmaster /seo guru... many of them even don't have an website.... but they trust every word they read and take it for granted.... There is no difference between quality and quantity.. is just how you decide to go or better said on what is your strategy based on.... More then that when we discuss about this we must keep in mind that G is not a human been that stay 24/7 and surf on the internet... is just a boot that gather code lines and then it pass those thru and algorithm... a quite impressive one but is still an algo... More then that... about the relevancy part... G is not yet able to get the relevancy like a human been and if it will base for this only on math be sure that many value bale websites will get out of first page, so G can not afford to do that. What I all suggest is to get back and learn about what is an logical algorithm, how a server work, how networks work... get back to the machine and then you will better understand things.... Once that go and test every piece of information you get and see if it is true/working or not. Now let's get back to the subject... I don't deny the fact that white hat/quality backlinks or whatever you want to call them work I just want to say that any strategy still work if you know how to adapt it and stay under the radar. The footprints and make things look natural have an important role this days.
Spam links or bunch of links are not good for website health!!!!!! try to get relevant backlink having PR and Good market repo !!!!!!!!
Looking for a solid example? Here you go, read this blog post: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/high-value-tactics-futureproof-link-building-whiteboard-friday First of all, not only is there fantastic information on this post and all over the website its a perfect example to show a great link. Seomoz is a PR 6 and if you scroll down to the transcription you will see a handful of links to other sites: A link builder by the name Eric Ward gets a link to his site (ericward.com) - they even promote his newsletter Next there is a link for "rotate anchor text" that points to a blog for iacquire They have links pointing to internal pages (this is good SEO) So these 2 sites end up getting a PR6 link from a great site but they are also going to get traffic from readers of the Seomoz blog. Plus these readers respect Seomoz so they are probably going to constantly check these sites. A quality link is more than just getting a high PR link to your site, its about helping to drive traffic and people actually wanting to share your site with others.
