Google Webmaster Says-"your Sitemap Appears To Be An Html Page."

    Last month i have started my new blog http://h2cweb.net submitted for Google indexing. Google indexed very well. But few days later i turned on my blog to a multisite. Now my multisite's sitemap indexed by Google webmaster tools but when i tried to submit new sitemap.xml then webmaster tools shows an error message and said that- "Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead."

    Can anyone please help me to solve it out. I will grateful to you. Thanks in advance.

    since that's just a list of all the sitemaps, you could just submit each sitemap on that list individually.

    My sitemaps are like sitemapindex.xml, posts.xml, pages.xml. But every sitemap getting this kind of errors. Can you give me better solution?

    Use different tools to create sitemaps. I also had the same errors in WordPress but soon got resolved, when i switched to other plugins.

    Which URL are you trying to submit as XML sitemap? Can you link to it directly from here?
