HI I m very happy to see the new interface of DP and also buy sell marketplace ... BUT strange thing is ... DP is promoting Flippa heavily in BST forum ... How ??? see :: the sticky thread says dont advertise auction .... Flippa <<<<< this way even NEWBIES are getting to know that DP's comp. is flippa https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/do-not-advertise-site-auctions-happening-elsewhere-ie-flippa.1699129/ IN my view .. simply remove word FLIPPA from title and let it be in rest content let me know what u guys says ... its good for FLIPPA but not for DIGITALPOINT Regards SeoDump
The full sentence is: So it's not only Flippa. Honestly I don't think anyone cares, if some people find out about flippa doesn't affect DigitalPoint in a noticable way. Besides, there are plenty of threads about flippa anyways.
Flippa is the worst website possible to sell your domains or websites because the listing fees kill you and there are enough scams reported online to suggest that they are a company that uses blackhat methods to gain listings and sales. Good that you mentioned it, and hope that the word Flippa is removed from the thread.
It's not flippa only.. There's ebay, sedo even. So does that mean dp is promoting ebay and sedo too? Merely mentioning name in order to give example has nothing to do with promotion.
i got weird experience in with flippa Support ... they are BIG site .. but support timings are limited and i ve lost BIG amount becasue of that ...
flippa is just full to the brim with thieving lying scammers, i wouldn't advise anyone doing business there
You can see DP thread and profile links on flippa so they allow to promote! DP. DP and flippa are big players of webmaster marketplace, they mention each other when need.
That's another way to look at it. But, I don't see Flippa promoting DP even by mistake. You know best though, I trust your judgment.
We aren't a competitor to Flippa, and even if we were... Who cares? I'd rather someone used this site because they like it. If people only use this site because they never heard of others, we have bigger problems.
Flippa just only want to make your money. They make sure they charge you all the fees so that they earn no matter whether you sell your website or not. They are only interested in making money themselves. It is highly possible that no one will bid on your website or people will make the lowest most budget bid on your website if you post your site listing. I also heard a lot of scam stories on Flippa, about how the buyer will force refund through paypal and Flippa still keep the listing fees. So, no matter what, Flippa earns.
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure the notice is even necessary any longer... it was more because people would start threads with nothing but a link to where they were having an auction offsite. Under the new system, you have to list the domain, set a price (or auction) and verify ownership. Haven't had any problems with people going through all that trouble and creating a fake sale to try and direct traffic somewhere else.
I guess Competition creates new markets And no problem for DP because I think DP is far more better engaging and easy to use than flippa
