Buying I Want To Hire An Adviser To Purchase An Existing Website

Discussion in 'Sites' started by fernandofgg, Feb 9, 2013.

    Hi all, I want to hire an Adviser/consultant/counseling to purchase an existing website.

    Why I want to hire an adviser, because I don't want to put in risk my money in any way. I have never done this before.

    * Budget: 7,000 to 10,000 USD
    * Buy 1 or 2 sites
    * You have to look those websites from me
    * Any kind of website mean time is MAKING good money today and for the past 12 month
    * Big traffic, Good Alexa rank, Good PR
    * Old domain better
    * Must be a good looking website
    * No goods/products/stock
    * I will ask for several proposals before I choose one option
    * I will need help in transferring domain and website to my own
    * I will need your help in the whole transaction

    I can pay a total of 7% of the transaction and after the deal is finish, no advance.

    Any ideas for other members to help make better this post will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Might want to pay someone to work for you ;) A 7% commission is not that high :(
    Most sales people get 10-20% commission. I would do this for you if you raise rates to 10%.
    I have done this before. :)
    Let me know if I can help.

    One thing to add -

    Sites that only have one revenue stream that can be enhanced by other revenue streams. :)

    I just want to point its great, your managing the risk. But, when you know very little, it becomes a risk anyways. For example, when you state "good alexa rank". People can manipulate that, so thats something to look into.

    I`d like to also add on, the bigger the website the more bigger hosting you need.

    Make a list of questions, when you even "consider anything" why did that cash flow began to decrease and how did that website create more sales.

    E.g: Dec 20th, 2012 - $20,000 completed

    Detailed questions to ask: Out of the $20,000 produced, was there any charge backs? If so, where are we at now? $13,000?

    Its all in the details. Good luck!

    Be careful. When I look on Flippa I would say 90% are strait up scams. Brand new domains, bought traffic, faked adsense earnings, no back links, faked analytics and on and on and on.

    When you're ready to buy PM me the site and I'll look at it for free :)

    Absolutely spot on, do as much due dilligence checks as you possibly can and trust no-one on flippa, even established members will scam you, i know from experience

    On flippa, there are overinflated, overvalued listings more than there is scam. Seems like everyone lands at flippa to sell their VERY valuable website (they think so) for good dollar, and then when a few auctions fail miserably or they meet the reality in the comments people leave under their auction, they go to other places like digitalpoint with more realistic prices.

    I've represented many clients in buying and selling websites and one thing I can tell you is that there is ALWAYS risk. An advisor may help manage the risk by assisting in the due diligence process but even if the due diligence is perfectly thorough (and it never is), there are risks that you cannot necessarily foresee, like Google changing its algorithm the week after you close the transaction or Amazon terminating all its affiliates in your state because of changes in your state's sales tax laws.

    You are looking for a "too good to be true" type deal.
    7% is nothing. It should be 20%.
    A non-refundable upfront is a must.
    Good luck.

    7% is way too low.
    Why should someone spend a lot of time researching websites that are making money for that %...they could just buy it their self if it is the great deal you are wanting them to find.

    Finding a website to generate profit isn't just a quick look, it needs research.
    You also want one already making profit, that multiplies the value a lot more than one not monetized.

    I would just suggest upping the % first, more important, no-one will do this without having money upfront.
    Unfortunately, you aren't known here, so people will obviously be suspicious, what if they spend weeks finding sites, researching and giving you the information then you buy the great sites and disappear?

    Just think about it from the other persons point of view :)
    Just trying to help :)

    Risk is a part of business, you can't offer a small % and expect someone to do all the work for you.

    Also, you need to do research on the person buying for you.

    I want to include that because I said about an upfront fee ( Just because we don't have any history of yourself for us ) - It works both ways, trust is important and it can be difficult online, but finding someone that you can check on their experience / history / transactions is a good way to start.

    I have lot of experience in this area. I have been buying and selling website since early 2000. I will do this for a flat fee. I have worked along side scam artists to understand how they execute their scams. I know what to look for and what questions to ask. My experience with working with scam artist has given me a unique perspective in uncovering bad websites before you buy them. My research takes a few to several hours and at the end of the research I will have a detailed report for you with my opinion regarding whether you should proceed with the website your interested. If you would like me to find the site for you please let me know.

    What is your website?
    Who are your previous clients?

    You really need to give a lot more information, you must have a long client list and testimonials if you have been doing it for 13 years.

    buying blog is really risky..
    even you buy in this digitalpoint forum..
    beware for someone who want to sell blogs for cheap..
    because I just experienced this condition
    some dp members pm me and overing his blogs..
    he have adsense proof, I can see it via teamviewer...
    he have google analytics data, he add me as new user, so I can observe the traffic quality..
    so everything just perfect..
    he also mention that he need money immediately for urgent
    but when I ask him to add another stat like histat or statcounter..
    he refuse it.. (if he need urgent, why he refuse to add another statistic counter, it is easy to add the script there?)
    he also want me to pay in advance using western union
    than all reason make sense..
    I search his blog in other forum, his account all banned..
    he sell his blog very cheap.. but I well get nothing if I buy it..
    because actually he only have adsense and google analytic.. not the website
    beware about it..
    every good website have their own price..
    you buy cheap, you get nothing..
