newby: Backlinks to PR0 sites, do they help?

Discussion in 'Google' started by ched, Nov 30, 2006.

Sorry if its been covered many times before, I did a search but didnt really find a n answer.
Back to the question: I have a site that I am currently rebuilding from the advice on these forums, thanks. But I am trying to find sites to get backlinks from, I have found quite a few that are in the same industry as me (holiday apartments) with PR of 4 or above but when I actually get to their links pages the PR of that page is 0. So should I still get backlinks from their links pages or would I be better off paying for ads with backlinks on travel sites with a good PR?

Thanks for any help you can give.

All backlinks help, however, a PR 0 site will help less than a PR 7 site.

PR is not important. You should just get links from related websites. Also work every day on getting a link from an authority website. This will make more than ten PR 6 links.

It's depending a lot... let me explain you why

Google have 2 types (or even more) of PR... one is internal pagerank , and the other is the ToolBar PageRank, what we see is the ToolbarPageRank.

Toolbar PageRank is from 0 to 10, but internal pagerank is from 0 to millions! yes, because of that some PR4 can beat others PR4 very easy.

The internal pagerank is updating continuously ... whenever google find a new backlink to your website it will push it some rank ... but the internal pagerank will be exported into the Toolbar PageRank only once a few months... so even if a page is PR0 , is very hard to say if it really got the value of an PR0

+++ If you look to first google patent you will see that even PR0 pass PR...but take care to not be all from the same domain name or same IP
also you may wish to check google after "domain.com/page.html" to see if the page is indexed and if it's in google cache

Well you must get paid links if you can... else 0 pr back links are also not that bad as they are counted as PR 0 links are also counted as back links and may be that get Page get PR in next update so you can go with that also... I personally never go for PR 0 bcoz i m able to find good PR links easily..

Inbound links are always good for any website. But the whole PR buzz is plain bull. I mean, forget about the PR. Just keep getting back links and make sure that the inbound link page does not have a large amount of links in it. That can potentially hurt your web rankings.

I believe that a link from a PR0 site but lots of traffic is worth MORE than a PR4 link from a website which has no traffic.

Your should take a look at the website's structure, usually in many cases, web pages with PR zero, can be PR4 or higher in the next update, others might even go down.

Don't worry about PR, my PR(unassigned yet) site is getting visitor from google and my site is just 2 weeks old,

All you need to get backlinks from relevant sites, i my case, i have on digg, blinklist etc

And of course, put some better content on your pages to get more visitor,

above all is not useful if you only want PR,,, in this case, buy high PR links and within a month you will get PR

Forget that there was a PageRank in Google's algorithme , because there's not only Google on the world , there's also Yahoo ( ranked #1 by Alexa ) , Live and Alexa !

Links to PR0 sites will not help your website , but it will help ( more or less ) the PR0 sites you linked to ;)

if they're from a related site, then it doesnt matter what pr they have, just get the link. However, just be sure that the page is indexable and is not twenty clicks deep.

Well, sort of, but PR can be used for exchanging links. The more PR you have, the more people will have an interest to exchange link with you.

Anyway, about the topic, try exchanging links with high PR sites.
