1. 2000 visitors * 5 pages = 10 000 views
2. 10 000 views * 0.05 = 500 clicks (Page CTR 5%)

Sometimes only 70 -80 visitor enough to make that Amount (pls see the image for proof). 100k+ views for that is waste of bandwidths.
But good optimized site should make $100 with 500-1000 visitor.

There are lots of misunderstanding that how to make good income from adsense. If you decide to make your living from Adsense then you have to serve your visitors with best ads, not best content or beautiful interesting site. This way, they would find whatever they are searching for on your site by clicking ads.
Also, you need "commercially valuable" visitor. Not just a surfer or someone looking at latest viral photos or videos. Organic targeted search traffic always works best for me.
