Yes, getting artificial traffic is not good for any site. It's increase bounce rate and don't provide any business for any site. People are just checking your links and left your page via some tools or web portal.

google will not consider paid link as a spam link but google won't give more importance to paid links and google always loves natural links.it gives more credits to the natural links so paid links is not good.
Google has marked some special kind of traffic as spam.like getting traffic from PTC sites and adult sites etc.however there is nothing like paid traffic is marked as spam..You can have paid traffic from facebook or yahoo advertising and google i okay with it and is not going to consider it as spam..overall all the sources of traffic which google thinks are cheap are considered as spam and you can not use that traffic on a website with adsense enabled or your account may be banned.. hope that helps. rakesh

Well he didn't mention any method of the traffic that he will buy, artificial or not. the point is if you are buying a link from a blog or site that is relevant to you, you will gain traffic and the link back power, and its cheaper and better then buying [traffic] it self. 1st because the link that you got to your self is natural, and only people interested is going to click it, and make sure the blog or site you are buying link from is actually real, original content and not spammy. 2nd if buying links and selling links is illegal Google wont start the Adsense / Adword business, I know it's different but in anyhow 2 sites linking each other is still the best considering the organic value.
