I think that's well within the ad guidelines. As long as you aren't confusing the ads with navigation or anything like that you should be fine.

I'm not too sure. Seems that adsense does not want ads above the fold. Please check with google to make sure.

nothing wrong with your ad placement.
but try to make one small correction to avoid misunderstanding for your visitors.
current ad is almost touched with content areas, try to give left margin 10 px using CSS for sidebar.
because misleading ads placements are against adsense policies too.

i think you should play it safe by margining the ad slot a bit.

Thanks that is correct. What I meant was not to place ads in such a way that you content goes below the fold and only ads show above the fold. More info here: http://support.google.com/adsense/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1346295#Difficult_to_distinguish_ads_and_content

AdSense is Google's cost (or pay) per click advertising program.

It's more a case of automated content software hurting your site's search engine ranking: because it's crap and Google down-rates it, your site will drop in ranking. Thus, your traffic will drop and your ads won't get as many hits and clicks.

Google might also decide your site sucks so badly that they won't let you run their ads on it.

Adsense is the affiliate program where Google Adwords appear on third party sites (ours) and we get about 60 percent of what Google charge their advertisers
The Google Adsense team are nuts - I've had several of my sites banned from displaying Adsense ads for trivial reasons
Adsense on your sites is also an open invitation for Google to give your sites a slap - as the Adsense team will happily report you to the search results team - who's attention you would otherwise have probably escaped

Also, be aware that with Adsense, you have the same publisher ID on every site you own that displays adsense - so Google can hit all your Adsense displaying sites at once

That is fine with Google's policies.
