Hello , im a graphic designer i do illustrations whats the best option for me to make money by selling them
Well , you can do the following 1:if the quality of your work is low , and you're fast doing it , use fiverr and you will make some money 2:if the quality of your work is high , use istockphoto as a contributor , submit exclusive designs and start making money .
You can use graphic river, or best way is to create your own digital download site using Wordpress, use some plugin which help you to sell digital goods promote your site through advertising programm and best way to attract customers is by offering freebies and prompting to buy your premium stuff.
I would like to add to this solution... There are many sites but some will offer you bonuses for keeping your content exclusive and it may be worth doing so with the right sites, others don't mind at least to the best of my knowledge so that might be worth looking into... www.GraphicRiver.net Although with this site you upload your work and it gets processed and a price is defined by the moderators, read through the site for a more clear understanding on the process but its a nice place and you can sell anything from small pieces of your work to large collections of your work as a bundle. Its well worth a look. www.GraphicLovers.com This is another site that you can sell your work on but you should look through the benefits of selling and the % that you make off of each sale, and I advise you to do this with any site but I assume you plan to anyway. https://graphicleftovers.com/become-a-seller www.ShutterShock.com Another site where you can sell things like photography and vector based works. I think you earn through the amount of downloads though and not based off of a price and a sale, you will have to look into that for yourself, it has been sometime since I was going that sort of stuff. www.CutCaster.com Yet another digital image and vector sale site... The list really could go on, but obviously some sites are larger and more popular than others, if you plan pn putting your content across multiple sites and not keeping exclusive to one than you should really think about looking them all up via Google searches and putting your content across all viable marketplaces to maximize your sales and income from your work. Alternatively you could create your own marketplace and market your content yourself, or you can even do this as well as sell through some of these other sites although, you will have to either match the prices or sell a little cheaper, the benefit from doing both IF you decide against exclusively selling is that you can receive all the profits from your sale as opposed to just 60-70% based on wherever you decide to sell. Selling via both like this would drive traffic to your personal store through your seller profile on these other marketplaces and if it's slightly cheaper you are still likely to be making more money. I hope that this makes sense as I am unsure I have done a good job wording it correctly in my post... I hope that this helps someone in some way. Kind Regards The Piixel Monster
Haha, while I was typing out my post you beat me to it in mentioning graphic river... Sorry, I just wanted to let you know I didn't just copy your post in more detail =\ I hate it when things like this happen lol!
You should regularly visit some websites for freelancers, many companies need graphic designers for single projects, and they pay good money.
That's specifically web designs and themes though... That's why i suggested GraphicRiver. Any type of graphic or illustration
I'm also an illustrator. I was exclusive on dreamstime until december last year and from about 100 uploads i was making about 50$ per month. I wanted to extend my work and upload more. So i gave up on exclusivity and sign up on other websites too. I can tell you this, i receive 50% less money from dreamstime now, but, the next in line is shutterstock with about 30-40$ per month and very fast approval, fotolia gave me about 7-8$, 123rf the same. From Alamy i didn't received anything but from what i've heard from other users is that they sell less but when an image is sold you get more money than usual so i'm still waiting. Zazzle is also a cool source of earning but i wasn't lucky until now. You must work hard for this one, i've managed to put only 5 images on about 100 products, it's quite time consuming. Istock has a good review also with fast approval, but i've managed to get approved only 25 images and a profit of 1.3$ per month. Other options are canstockphotos and depositphotos, but lower earnings. On bigstockphoto i didn't received any money and they approve in a very long time new work. The same i can say about crestock, so i would stay away from both. So, my recommendation is not to have all egs in the same basket. You'll see that when you don't have much sales on a website you'll have on another, making you a balanced profit!
Hi Checkout Deviantart.com, you can sell through them. As the other member mentioned, GraphicRiver is another good choice. You may want to skip, big stock sites like shutterstock as they are so saturated with millions of images, you will find it hard to even get views on your art work. Also, Sharecg.com and Renderocity.com are popular choices for 3d art work. Dont limit yourself to just illustrations, you could be doing Logo design, web designs, web elements, animations, patterns, etc. If you do want to try your luck on those large stock sites, here a few of the better ones. bigstockphoto.com/ fotolia.com/ dreamstime.com vectorstock.com istockphoto.com/ But again join deviantart and create a nice channel for yourself, if anything its a good place to show off your designs Thanks
I suggest you to try fiverr, it's not something amazing, because at start you will get 5$ for your work, but later you will be able to add extras and earn much more, at least 20$ for your works. Of course if you show great results. Or you can try logoarena if you have skills in logo design, people in here are paying really good money
In addition to the recommendations above, do yourself a favor and start your own blog or website and sell your images there. It will be slow in the beginning, but I guarantee it will pay off if you stick with it long enough to build a solid reputation and brand.
hi i suggest you to try these sites: elance.com, freelance.com, guru.com or odesk.com these site are legitimate i hope this useful for you. best regards
