Do you think forum about taxes has future

    Hi all,

I have just started new forum www.TaxForum.us - forum specialized in United States Taxes.

It is not like the most fun topic to talk about and also requires expertise. Do you think it has future?

What would be the best marketing strategy for this type of forum?

    Thanks

You have created a forum on one of the only two certainties in live. I think if you promote this correctly and you have a general interest in it, it will be a success.

yup the main thing is if you have interested on it or not?if you don't have interest don't go for it its very hard to promote ,but if you have interest in it go for it ,you'll certainly love promotiong it .

I think you should try to find those 'gray' areas in taxes that generate a lot of discussion, and target those as well. I've been playing professional poker online for around 4 years and have been part of a lot of top notch poker forums. I can tell you some of the hottest discussions were about paying taxes on poker winnings. If you can find any other 'niches' in the tax area that are gray areas with a lot of confusion, then that would generate a lot of traffic.

    Good luck

in US things are pretty clear with taxes, you should have started a forum to cover other contries where situation is not very clear

You'll have to work harder to generate interest in the forum for months outside of the January-to-April period.

Of course, Tax is something that you cannot avoid. Try and contact a financial magazine to see if they can feature you and submit a press release.

I think it could work well because a lot of people like to get help with tax issues. So, a nice tax forum could be the answer for people to help each other.

I visited your forum and think that it is a good idea, especially if the information is kept current and up to date. A lot of small business owners do not know where to start when it comes to taxes, so something like this could be potentially a big help.

And if the answer could not be found on the forum, it would be helpful to be pointed in the right direction....

In my personal opinion, I don't think a forum of this caliber would have a bright future, and the simple reason behind it is users aren't enthusiastic about the topic.

Are you excited about paying taxes?

Don't get me wrong, yes it could work out, but you'd definitely be better off investing your time into something else, in my opinion.

Either way, I do wish you the best of luck, and if you need any help feel free to PM me. :)

First I thought so.. but I also run soccer related forum www.SoccerFriend.com it has about 300-400 visits a day and to my suprise TaxForum.us got more posts from the users in the last few days with only 30 visits a day.

Apparently more people want to talk about taxes rather then about soccer (and soccer is SO MUCH MORE FUN!!!)
