Google indexation question

Discussion in 'Google' started by mini_m, Nov 29, 2006.

For some reason, my blog's been indexed in Yahoo and MSN for a week now but it's nowhere to be seen in Google.
Is Google just slow or what's the problem? I got 2 PR5 backlinks.

My other question is, once my site is indexed, how do I index all the pages separately? Does Google do this automatically or does it matter on how many people link to them? Or I have to assign them?

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like it might be banned in Google.

There's no reason why it would get banned, it was only up for 1 1/2, 2 weeks. Bad time to post this topic as the blogger servers seem to be down at the moment.

Google is just slow to index new sites. Don't sweat it, just keep building the website.

If your site is not indexed by Google two months after you started it, then you might have reasons to worry. Nit two weeks is just nothing, so just wait.

Google will index all your pages, unles you told him not to do it - i.e. you have entries in the robots.txt files that forbid indexing certain files and directories.

Typically the first page(s) you get are domain.com and domain.com/index.something

For me it took 3 to 4 months before my site showed up in google. Although I believe the aging factor might of been greater in my circumstance as it was growing by 100~ pages a day.

I wouldnt worry about it, it will get in eventually, content is king and build it while you have grace so people arnt coming to an empty site. You should track the visitors coming to your site from the search engines with analytics or other tracking software which is more important than the number of pages you have in google.

Also pimp your feed. A lot of people, including myself, believe(d) they are not that popular, but they are as I recently learned after i set it up on feedburner and tracked the number of readers I am getting!

Okay, thanks.. so I guess I'll just wait.

I thought the fact that I got 2 PR5 links will drastically improve the indexing factor but apparently not.

Hmm... feeds, yeah I'll take a look into those in more details, thanks.

Make a sitemap so that it's easier for the robot to crawl all your pages
Get 2-3 incoming links for every new page

IF all else fails try social bookmarking your website on a couple of websites and see what happens, this technique always works for me.

    Thank You

2 pr5 backlinks are not enough for your website, you need more. Get more links, and you will indexed by google sonner or later. Submit a sitemap file, google will index your sub pages.

If you mean the site you have in your signature, I looked at your source code and found:

    <meta content\u003d\'NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW\' name\u003d\'robots\'/>
    Code (markup):
It's part of a blogger beta widget.

Hi, please note that one important thing about getting indexed faster by Google is the quality of links. Although having high PR links can be helpful, they should be on frequently crawled pages as well.

Google's just slow, I guess (kidding):

Well the truth is it is very hard having indexed by Google because there are millions of sites wanted to be indexed by Google to ensure quality and traffic.
