some are thinking that I am just saying it for a time pass and some are considering it as a joke

    All should remember that

Dmoz was first started by two editors

and also Google was started in car garbage before talking like this

If they do not have guts to take on Dmoz they can simply stay away from here and not discourage others

To be fair to till date non here or had the idea of taking on Dmoz

Also I m not talking about Dmoz like directory ,It would have some other category structure and website approvals and not certainly like Dmoz

why people are discouraging me ? I think simple reason is that they do not want lose because of another BIG directory since they are themselves directory owners

Back links are not important only word of mouth is essential ,back links naturally generateover a period of time

Its waste of time according to you but its not a waste of time ,It is all about thinking and tweaking the old scripts and html pages to start some thing different

you see the directory I am going to start will not run on a database that you have to thing some thing unique like that
Main section would have 10,000+ categories

and other sections will be based upon the countries

I plan to include 49 countries in my directory

    all together 500,000 categories

you cannot create 500,000 lakh static pages over a year

and also you cannot change the html codes for each and every static html page

Thats what I have done ,I have the idea and I created some pages and it worked fine

I would be just loading 10,000 pages and by this I would be creating html pages for regional section under countries

and important point here is that "THE DIRECTORY WILL NOT RUN ON A DATABASE OR ANY OTHER SCRIPT"

This is some thing unique I think thats only I am asking all of you

Since I have to write 3 papersfor my Engineering university till dec 11th I will not be free ,I hope to launch it within one month from December 11th

I am asking simply because I want some editors so I tweak the code and create the script

The Html pages are generated by a script thats what I am saying here and I am also looking for adequate bandwidth and other resources and I can assure you 1000 times that thes pages

would be 999% in html and not even Dmoz has like that remember,Okay I hope some of you

will realise it after what I am saying ,

    Funny.

A quality directory with a nominal fee ($10 or less) that has editors for each category is more realistic.

And no refunds, the editors get paid anyway even if a site is rejected. This will maintain the quality of sites listed & hopefully prevent sites from buying their way in.

I am saying all the links will be listed in a transparent manner and

For instant inclusion why I am saying $6 is that It will discourage corruption

and instant inclusions will be directly approved by me and I will not allow other editors to approve instant inclusion

and the editors will be rewarded in the ratio of 3(me):2(editors all):1(hosting)

and also editors will be allowed to display their adsense ads on submission pages and they can get a good amount of revenue by that and they will be also allowed to display the ads on their categories main pages

and editors will be paid only by the amount of quality links they add or approve

and if some editors add MFA sites and poor quality sites they will be definitely

banned ,as I would be the administrator there

Freewebspace, sounds like you're all geared to do this solo. Where do "we" come in? The editors? :p

I was just indicating 999% means it would be in static html and not any other than that and

here most of the people has voted no (51%) let us see it and I have got got some red reps for this thread here Its okay I will never mind it

Yes you would come as editors

And these may be the following incentives
1)your ads may be dsiplayed in the submission pages of your categories

    2) 2/6 commission for a instant review submission and this will given only on the basis of links you add

3)you can also advertise your site and some other incentives that I am thinking of it

I am giving these since It would be very waste to start a directory that has Volunteer Editors though some may be really good others may not be interested in it

when the job is semi professional ,the quality will be good thats what I am saying here

Personally I think that with the quality of directory owners on DP and with effort and promotion it could work.

Its time to start thinking outside the box when it comes to directories

I think site owners at DP are quite happy with the current directories we submit to ;) I have never heard someone happy of having to submit a new site to DMOZ.
