Hello, I previously posted about this in the new site thread, but I think Shawn missed my response among all the spam about likes or whatever. Before the change over, I had conducted two transactions under Instant Pay and they both showed up as paid. Since the change to the new sites, one has shown as "unpaid", but there is a transaction ID shown in DP, which matches up with the transaction ID in PayPal. There is an error for both of them when I click on the links* for the transactions, which might be related to the problem? *For example, the transactions are listed at: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/marketplace/payment-history And the transaction ID can be clicked. I assume this should display some details within DP, but instead there is the following error: I re-linked my PayPal account and waited about an hour or so, but there was the same problem. I did this a couple of times (over the weekend, I think, can't remember for sure). The transactions as listed by DP under Payment History: It shows as "Pending", but when I search in PayPal, it shows as being paid on the 13 May 2012: The PayPal "receipt of payment" email, which shows the forum link and item number provided by Instant Pay (for anyone curious about why two transaction IDs, read this):
No, I only have this PayPal account. The first transaction is recognised as completed, but both have the same error when I click on the transaction ID. As I mentioned, it wasn't until after the move to the new site that the problem cropped up. Both were recognised as paid before.
Are you able to find those transaction IDs in your PayPal account manually? Really it's just based on the transaction ID, nothing else... if your account can see the listed transaction ID it should work, if not... it won't.
I hate starting new threads about this stuff - so I am going to tack mine on here. It is a different issue. On my marketplace profile it says I have 2 completed sales, when I have 3. But it also shows that I have 3.
Yes, when I search PayPal, both transactions are found using the transaction IDs listed on DP. or if I run a report off by date, email or whatever. I've just amended my DP email address to be the same as my PayPal one, but due to the way you're linking in, I don't think that would make a difference.
@browntwn: are you able to view the transaction details when you click the link? Maybe it's just me getting that error message.
Actually, I hate to even say this. I don't have my paypal linked, but I did try to click. I get two different messages. Obviously, I don't expect details without my account being linked. But I don't really understand the second message... but I can't say anything is wrong without linking my paypal account. The one I expected: And one of the 3 gives me this message, which is just odd since you'd think the other one would be it:
Are one of them on an deleted thread by chance? Email address definitely won't matter... If you have access to the transaction in your normal PayPal interface, you definitely should be able to do it. It's literally based on nothing except the transaction ID. If you right click the link and open it in a new window, then change the transaction ID in the URL to I dunno... the most recent transaction in your PayPal account (doesn't matter if it has anything to do with Digital Point), does it show info? Maybe PayPal puts some sort of timeframe limit for API calls, but that seems weird.
Hmmm... it's a bit of a strange one because part of it sees the transaction, but another part doesn't think that sale was eligible FOR a transaction (reserve was never met).
I tried other transaction IDs, but there was the message: I guess this is because I'm using *my* (buyer) transaction ID and your system expects to use the one generated by the supplier. https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/About-Business-Archive/Transaction-ID-mismatch/td-p/425337
It really shouldn't matter... what's one of the URLs you tried and got that error? I'll try it with random transaction IDs on my PayPal.
It doesn't really matter to me I am not concerned about the discrepancy, but I just thought I'd mention it. I also noticed that it says reserve not met. It also says I won and where to pay. Which I did. The deal went fine. I just followed that link again... https://forums.digitalpoint.com/marketplace/won On that page it shows the 2 other ones as paid, but this transaction is not there. (Another anomaly, because also there it shows 3 that still say Pay Now. I know I paid everyone, and if at the time they allowed Instant Pay, I know I used it. I was meticulous about that. Those three were not always there - and checking the threads for those three - it does not say the "Congratulations, you are the winner! You can pay over here." language you'd normally see on an Instant Pay transaction.)
Yeah... not sure how it would have happened... not sure I care enough to try and figure it out on the old system since that's where it came from. I'd be far more interested if it ever happened on the CURRENT system. Now just to figure out how to handle something like that...
This is one of the transactions I won: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/marketplace/2457882/transaction?txn=1WG576257D7061022 That shows the you do not have permissions message. This URL is when using transaction ID from a payment I made to JustGiving: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/marketplace/2457882/transaction?txn=034663703T802041G And this one gives me a message about a transaction ID is required. Both of them can be found using search by transaction in PayPal.
Did you try the URL I provided? It doesn't make sense that for the second one I get: As clearly a transaction ID is there. They are both 17 characters, too. The only difference is, DP doesn't know about the second one. Both do exist in PayPal though. I had a quick scan through the PayPal API for SearchInvoices and couldn't see a limitation in terms of old transactions. It's odd, as the old forum picked up this transaction: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/marketplace/2471214/transaction?txn=7U865753LY027683T But not now. Using the PayPal API for this transaction ID, this was returned: TransactionSearch Completed Successfully: Array ( [L_TIMESTAMP0] => 2012-05-13T21:42:35Z [L_TIMESTAMP1] => 2012-05-13T21:42:35Z [L_TIMESTAMP2] => 2012-05-13T21:42:35Z [L_TIMESTAMP3] => 2012-05-13T21:42:35Z [L_TIMEZONE0] => GMT [L_TIMEZONE1] => GMT [L_TIMEZONE2] => GMT [L_TIMEZONE3] => GMT [L_TYPE0] => Payment [L_TYPE1] => Currency Conversion (credit) [L_TYPE2] => Currency Conversion (debit) [L_TYPE3] => Transfer [L_EMAIL0] => "SELLER'S EMAIL ADDRESS" [L_NAME0] => SELLER'S FULL NAME [L_NAME1] => From British Pound [L_NAME2] => To U.S. Dollar [L_NAME3] => Bank Account [L_TRANSACTIONID0] => 8KG15105D3504504J [L_TRANSACTIONID1] => 6RL41690MX742770X [L_TRANSACTIONID2] => 00D914668D577304U [L_TRANSACTIONID3] => 0P742336557642543 [L_STATUS0] => Completed [L_STATUS1] => Completed [L_STATUS2] => Completed [L_STATUS3] => Completed [L_AMT0] => -25.00 [L_AMT1] => 25.00 [L_AMT2] => -16.04 [L_AMT3] => 16.04 [L_CURRENCYCODE0] => USD [L_CURRENCYCODE1] => USD [L_CURRENCYCODE2] => GBP [L_CURRENCYCODE3] => GBP [L_FEEAMT0] => 0.00 [L_FEEAMT1] => 0.00 [L_FEEAMT2] => 0.00 [L_FEEAMT3] => 0.00 [L_NETAMT0] => -25.00 [L_NETAMT1] => 25.00 [L_NETAMT2] => -16.04 [L_NETAMT3] => 16.04 [TIMESTAMP] => 2013-02-05T13:53:43Z [CORRELATIONID] => 9ec8f428c3c33 [ACK] => Success [VERSION] => 51.0 [BUILD] => 5060305 ) PHP: So the PayPal API works fine to retrieve these transactions.
Can you try this again by chance? Been trying to figure this one out still, but kind of hard since *I* don't have any transactions to test it against myself.
