I'm completely obsessed with becoming successful due to wanting to provide for my family and traveling around the world (specifically Japan). My question is are you rich(millionaire, billionaire?) and what do you do with your life? I want detailed answers.
I would say if you are obsessed with being successful the first thing I would do is not worry about others. Put all focus and energy into your work and maybe someday you will get there. But to answer your question rich is a relative term. I would consider myself rich compared to some and poor compared to some.
I doubt there is a single millionaire on this forum. If there is, I'd like to ask them why they bother? If I had a million in the bank, I could think of better things to do...
I'm a bazillionaire. I'm rich in love with my wife. In all seriousness, I wouldn't consider myself rich, but have a comfortable, happy life with my family. That is enough for me and I don't want or need to be a millionaire.
I don't think I'd ever want to be rich most rich people are depressed. The main reason for this is because in order to obtain such wealth it often means neglecting other parts of your life and the money can get to your head and changes you as a person. Bit of a generalization but true for the most part imho. So no I don't want to be rich I just plan on being comfortable.
I guess everyone has a different definition of rich, I'm sure many people who some of you may consider rich but live in high cost of living cities may not consider themselves rich. That being said, I don't think I'm rich but I do fairly well.
I'm not as rich as I'd like to be, but when compared to "most" other people yes I can't deny that I'm rich enough
Well, tell that to all working people who can't afford to live in Thailand. Also the many western tourists who come here for a 2 weeks holidays and go back to work the next day. Just to be able to live in Thailand all year long as a tourist means I'm rich enough if you ask most other people. But of course for me I'd like to be rich enough to own a house in several countries and other stuff. And for instance I'm not rich enough to live as a tourist in some rich countries, not that I'd like to anyway, but I can't yet.
James I hope you are not implying Thailand is more expensive to live than most other countries. If you've lived in Thailand for long enough, as such you are not really a tourist, and would have the local knowledge to get stuff cheaper.
No, I'm not implying that it is more expensive living as a local, but living as a tourist (the 2 weeks millionaires) is very expensive. I live in a beach front condo, a corner unit, I shop mainly at western supermarkets, I have two internet lines, I pay for cleaning, etc. And while having no need to work for a boss, no need to commute. So that's why I said I'm rich enough to live here as a tourist. But I'm not rich enough otherwise I would have bought this condo and would own even better ones. Also I could live in more expensive countries with the same lifestyle. But I can't, so I'm not rich enough. That's all I'm saying, I'm rich enough to afford this lifestyle, but not rich enough for the more expensive lifestyles
