Have you ever wondered "If there is any way to test WordPress themes and plugins locally before using them on your live blog"? Of course there is. You can install WordPress offline using XAAMP. Here is a Quick guide on How You can Install WordPress Locally Using XAMPP

XAMPP is a great way to run a LAMP (minus the linux portion) stack on your local machine. Will install, run and manage Apache, php, mysql on windows. Install wordpress, etc as you normall would.

I've used MAMP and XAMPP, but prefer XAMPP. There seems to be more tutorials on the web for XAMPP too.

Once WP is installed, it is the website. Then you start writing articles in it.

What is the basic requirement to install WP, I tried then the first problem PHPADMIN then looking for phpadmin installation afterwards 2nd problem IIS. I was thinking just doing this simple process, that you guide, I can easily access WP but its been a hectic job for me. Is there any easy way to go out.

If the server is IIS, it's a Windows server, and you probably don't have PHP or MySQL available, so you can't run either phpMyAdmin or WP. You need either a Linux server (if you're buying hosting) or a WAMP stack (like xampp) if you're running on your own Windows computer.

MySQL is included in the XAMPP bundle, so you don't need to install MySQL, they also have a great tutorial in their website of how to install it on your system.

If IIS server is running on your system, you have to deactivate (uninstall) it firt to prevent any conflic, because IIS and Apache uses the same TCP port for listening.

Or you can change the TCP port for IIS services, if you you want to run multiple web servers.

What is the difference between xampp and bitnami? Which one should I use? I bought lynda tutorials a long time ago. The presenter in the tutorial video uses bitnami. Is bitnami better than xampp?

There is no correct answer. You can use any of them. XAMPP is easy. I never tried Bitnami. You can also try InstantWP. I have seen many WordPress users talking about it.
