Most Early Steps To Start Seo Plan

I have some SEO related experience to share here about early steps to start SEO plan. The usual and normal starting points are directory submission, blog posting etc. I have used some free and some paid article submission sites. But never never use auto submission tools that provide facility to submit your article to hundreds of sites with a slight sum of money. They will just deceive you.

It is better to prepare your own PR articles and submit to PR sites. The most PR submission sites are free.

Keeping tracking your competitors is very much important. Keep monitoring them, what are their strategies, their PRs, their keywords and their social media activities, their site’s features and tools used on their website. To do so, PowerSuite is the most popular tool to get all info at only one place about any site.

What are the other mostly considered tips according to your experience to get most of search engine exposure?

    Thanks,

i find the best thing is to check and recheck your html code.
the most important factors i've found is making sure the title element, meta desc and use of H elements (h1 and h2 especially) are well used.

Make sure all your keywords are in there, and you have 1 h1, a couple of h2's and numerous h3 tags

These are good starting points for on-page optimization, but they are only a miniscule part of successfully ranking any given website.

It really doesn't matter whether you use auto tools or do things manually. Spam is spam at the end of the day. Mindlessly submitting to directories, article sites, etc, is just a low value link that could in the end be counted against you. After all, these are links you're making yourself, which Google is really not wanting people to do (but instead earn links). Article sites? Do guest blogging instead. This is still artificial, but as long as you keep a focus on quality, then it shouldn't cause you any problems (plus has other benefits, such as audience and traffic). Directories? If you really insist on this, look to see if there is a real editorial policy in practise, or are they accepting every link. Go niche, go local, too, rather than general directories.

H tags have little to no benefit. Check out SEOmoz, there's a good case study by Rand Fishkin about on-page factors:

There's also some goo guidance in there, which amounts to use them if there's a reason and not just for the sake of it.

A good SEO campaign should always start with solid keyword research. A mistake here can be devastating. You want to select terms that will drive traffic but you also have to consider the actual possibility of ranking with considerations to your budget.

I can't tell you how many times I have seen a campaign die because a site did not rank for extremely competitive terms, when the best solution would have been to target less competitive terms that are more realistic yet will still drive traffic. Even if the traffic and conversions are less than with other terms, it was much more reasonable and can support more competitive efforts later on.

On page is key, especially content. After that it is about finding links that are related to the site and are not full of spam.
