I'd tend to agree with you - it is probably sensible to keep it fairly low nowadays. However, there are plenty of example of pages ranking at slot 1 for competitive keywords where the density is right up to 5%. Just sayin'...
Hii, Keyword density is a ratio of particular keywords appeared in the web page compared to whole content,It is a measurement of SEO.The increasing of particular keywords in the relation leads to increase the keyword density.Google and yahoo consider keyword density as their part of search algorithms.
Keywords Density- keywords density represents percentage of keywords that is present at u r site. if keywords density should not e greater then a normal density.Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to.
Keyword Density explains the total number of times you use your keyword. For instance, if you are assigned to write an article on a topic Teeth Whitening, your keyword here is Teeth Whitening. Your customer will ask you for a defined keyword density to maintain. If the customer requests you to maintain 2% keyword density for 500 words article on Teeth Whitening, then you can use the keyword Teeth Whitening a maximum of 8 - 10 times in the article and not more. This is called Keyword Density. I hope this information will help you Cheers
The information doesn't help - in fact it is dangerous, because it is wrong. A 2 word keyphrase occurring 10 times in a 500 word article is actually 4% density, not 2%. If you don't understand why this is, just consider this:- I have a 2 word article. It's very short, I know. The article text reads 'Teeth Whitening'. What is the density of the keyphrase 'Teeth Whitening'? It occurs once in the article which is 2 words long, so by your reasoning it's 50%. As anyone can see, it's actually 100%, and this is how Google calculates keyword density, so be warned - multiply the occurrences by the number of words in the keyphrase to get actual density. If you ignore this, you can slip way over 5%, which will lead to your pages getting seriously downgraded by Google.
