    Hey,

What framework / software do the big ecommerce websites like bol.com use? I know its mainly custom but did they start somewhere with a default package or is it really completely 100% custom?

What framework / software is best for customizing if we want to approach the functionalities bol.com has? Will Magento do this?

    Thanks for suggestions.

IMO, it is better to start from some default package. They just have fixed some general bugs))
I wouldn't recommend Magento if you need customizing, its code structure is complicated and messed up.

I personally like CS-Cart - powerful and easy for customizing.

    Thanks.
Why not magento? I have budget and I read around that with magento you have the most possibilities when it comes to customizing...

Magento is the only enterprise standard e-commerce software and big stores are already start using Magento like Nike, Puma, Paul Smith, Vizio, Nokia etc.
