I want to know how much money in advertising is invested on average to make a fulltime living online.
That poll is in the extremely low ranges lol. I would have it go from $1-499 $500-999 $1000-2,499 $2,500-5,000 $5000+ Even this can be quite low. Anyway, I myself only spend $1,600 in advertisements. I don't bank big either, just enough to get by on after paying that $1,600 and my brutal server fees. The more money you make, the more you can re-invest; plus the more confidence and experience you acquire in a specific niche will obtain you more. Just don't get cocky and do lots of drinking/drugs, spend all your money and start from scratch. It blows.
I mainly used free advertising. I know it is a pain in the butt, but it will help you a ton in the long run, I mainly focus on blogs, forums, ebooks, craigslist ads, and facebook.
It takes sometime to pick up. It is a matter of time. It takes a lot determination and effort to see the results.
Thanks to all of you for your contributions. I also prefer free advertising and it works out well but I need to scale up.
I was thinking that my estimates were a little low, but I wanted to let any readers of this post know that it can get costly from the advertising perspective of internet marketing once you make it big. Most of us see that boasting about how much they make, but not what is being spent to each it. Thanks for your feedback.
When I had a business selling products that was my full-time job, I used to spend around $5,000 a month on advertising. I would have spend more, but that was about he limit of my niche. I'd spend $millions if I made more than the advertising costs. The exact costs are irrelevant. It's whether you're making more than your spending that counts. You need to spend as much as possible while it's making money.
The problem is that paid advertising is often what works. In the product niche I was in it worked very well. 99% of sales came from paid adverts. 1% from free adverts. If I'd relied on free adverts, the business would have been bust. Don't get caught on on free adverts. They're often free for a reason. I'd say that almost every real business pays for adverts in some form or other. If you have a real business, then you most likely need to pay for adverts. I can't see why you wouldn't want to. That's assuming the adverts work of course.
