iI agree with indmoss, The best place to market a digital product such as this would be where everyone goes looking for it....Amazon. The Kindle has exploded in sales over the last couple of years which means there will be users looking for a variety of different ebook topics. Possibly yours too.
I think affiliate marketing could be a good idea and you could always get affiliate software and host your own affiliate program. Another thing you can do is create a podcast and try to build an audience. Also, you can have webinars and try to build an audience and a community. You can also do guest blog post.
Again, I stand on what I said. You need to get there in the first place, before you can sell anything. (you need an audience)
Here is an update so far. I am somewhat building an audience. I know how a twitter account with 2800 followers, a facebook page with 555 followers and my you tube channel with 35000 views. I used fiverr to get a lot of the views, followers and likes. I know they are not targeted, most a real though. This just makes my brand more reputable, because I know have more people liking following and viewing that I did not pay for. I also have a testimonial video that is really well done, plus I am getting my website professionally designed. When this is all done I have an optimized SEO article that I will submit to tons of sites for a more traffic and a higher page rank. I have no sales still but I have not got tons of good traffic yet. Am I doing okay yet?
I have decided yes that I will also put it on Amazon, I just need to work on a better book cover and stuff first.
Absolutely agree. Affiliate marketing works for big business or expensive products but not for one book. In your shoes I would use all the SMM tools. Find out 2 good articles and just follow their advice. Also you can try to give several books as a present finding a FB winner via random determination (taking into account all people who liked and share your link on their profile). It really spreads a word about it
You should avoid, all the social nonsense. Unless you have money to spare, then thats a bit different. Just get your website designed, the way you want it. Everything else, then falls under getting links for whatever you are ranking for, so a proper keyword research. I say "A" for effort, but you dont need the social proof at this moment.
Once you have done all your research and specifically identified your target market, push social media as hard as possible.
Thanks guys. Just another update. I have had my website redesigned and instead of that intense music word slideshow video, I added one of my customer testimonials that is only 40 seconds. Which will hopefully grab a potential customers attention better. Still havn't put it on amazon in the process of getting a better book cover. Also getting someone to review my website to tell em what can be changed. Anyone have any suggestions to making my sale page better?
Write a good sales catch. When you create an ad then you need to write a good sales catch. Your sales catch has to sound interesting and grab the attention of people when you advertise your self published book. You need to give them a reason to click on the advertisement to go visit your book. You need to give them a reason to buy your book. Don't make it boring. Almost everyone loves to see a memorable ad.
Radio and TV! With this economy radio and TV stations are always looking for money experts and investment segments. It's REALLY easy to get booked on your local radio and TV stations....easier than most people think! Here's a free video I made that will help you get started => http://freepublicitystar.com
Why not sell it on Amazon Kindle. My first book has sold 130 copies in just over 3 weeks. No marketing needed, as Amazon does it all.
Someone already pointed out that this would be a bad idea for such a cheap book. I can't see why any affiliate would promote it when there are so many other things to promote with much better commission.
Oh my bad, I did not think the book was that low in price. Yea I make sure I do not sell books no lower than $20 on clickbank.
I just put it on amazon yesterday. However since I make my book available on my website, I could not enroll it in kindle select, is your book in kindle select? When did you start seeing sales?
I I think Kindle Select is often essential. It's the free days that get the book noticed. I had 1-2 sales a day for 2-3 days, then offered it for free (2,000+) downloads, then it started selling 6-8 day. Now back to 1-4 a day. Started selling from day 1.
