    Hi Alcon,

I'm looking for a Drupal theme for a new travel site and would like some input from the community here. I'm comfortable with Drupal, but want to find a theme that feature rich. Thanks for taking the time to look.

    Thanks again....

Yea, I've dug through Drupal and a bunch of the template sites, it's just a lot of tedious work and I really just want to get my new site up and running. Was hoping someone with some first hand experience would chime in..
    Thanks though....

If you could explain a bit more about what you want, then. "Feature rich" doesn't mean much (and my crystal ball is broken). Only you know what features you want, so perhaps if you can describe what you need?

Alternatively, you could try a paid service. There are some listed on Drupal's website:

Going for free themes for your website is OK, but there are things to keep in mind, like they are easily vulnerable to online attacks. I would suggest to take services from some drupal developers/firm to get a custom theme designed for you and that would be secured as well

I wouldn't agree there. Paid of free there is a risk of a theme or module being insecure. If anything, one of the popular themes from drupal.org is going to serve you better in terms of security - even if an exploit is found, either the developer (as a release) or user (in the issue tracker) of the theme will quickly issue a fix for it.

Obviously, always do your own security audit, lock things down as much as possible (permissions, filtering in .htaccess, etc).

Check bktemplates.com, with Artisteer you can create every sort of page. There you can find also a lot of ready templates. Check, maybe you will like one of them.

    RoadWarriorVPN,

Check out AdaptiveThemes professional themes - the core AdaptiveTheme is a free Drupal theme and the sub-themes are available if you pay AT a low annual subscription (I think it's about $50).

Most of their themes are quite nice and because they're installed as sub-themes, they're easy to modify / adapt / copy to your own subtheme and alter.

But (and this is the relevant type of 'but'), they are massively feature-rich - plenty of regions, highly responsive, integrate well with Panels, Display Suite, font-your-face, Mobile Switch, etc..

PS - I'm not affiliated with AdaptiveThemes - I just use them and think they're awesome.

in regards to what Patrick has said, I think AT (adaptive theme) is a great base to start with. What I usually do is search the web for free themes (not for drupal, in general). if you do not narrow your search to drupal you are sure to get more options (like wordpress). when you find the theme you like, bust download it and check out the elements/images folder for all the images of the theme. Now, you can use these images to construct your own theme on top of the AT sub theme or any other theme for that matter. I usually use the Corolla theme. implementing should not take more then 2-3 hours and you have a great theme. you can check out an exapel that i have made from a wordpress theme at www.manketours.com
