I think the most important thing here is alert. Why alert? Because if you see in this forum, there are lots of opportunities that sometimes are given only in limited time.If you alert and could take action as fast as you can, then you'll get the most benefits. Ok,let's take an example from my own experience: Like I did before, when someone posting post seeking for helps to tag their websites in social bookmarking sites,I was among the early members that helps him and at the same time I ask them to do favour on my website as exchanging the value of my time tagging his site. Then after several days I get back to the thread and I see there are more people tagged my sites-because I'm among the pioneer!I get decent traffic from it and up until now my directory has received nearly 500 links(400 still pending). So it's just a little case study of my directory that I launched about 2 weeks ago.I hope it will give some insights for you on how to increase traffic on your site. And last thing I would like to say is: "Don't fail to promote your website every single day.Be it submission to directory, forum marketing,etc.2" Just my 2 cents, peicom
Thats very true... My Suggestion: Build a link page in your website... exchange link with your related website (website with related content of website)...
links links links! Send mails, comment on other blogs, contact every site in your niche! Contact over 100 sites and see the results. I've sent more than 300 mails. About 200 replied and agreed the link exchange. In under 2 weeks time i can really see the amazing results. It's nor easy or simple. Work hard and you'll get results!

Find some VC, and do advertisement as ebay was doing at its start point. Until now, I'm still thinking the reason that ebay popular is popular was due to its huge advertisement covered every corner of the world.
Hi Universe, What is your current traffic like /day? What is the traffic amunt that you are targrting? Nita
Try a three-way link exchange. Apparently search engines like them better than the run-of-the-mill two-way exchanges.
exchange your links with others (recommended) Add social bookmarks to your pages and add your pages to these bookmarking sites, it will give you huge traffic as it works for me Post to forums with a signature of your link(attractive link title) Try to get some featured links (paid) if you can
PPC for instant (and expensive) traffic. Slower and cheaper (or free) - link building, forum posting, article writing.
You can make one of the most professional and eye-pleasing sites ever, but you will have lost precious time and effort if no one is viewing your page. If it is traffic that you want, you will want to try driving traffic using several different advertising tools. SEO is of the upmost importance when starting out. It is a source of countless "targeted" page views if done correctly, although how to do that correctly is another topic all together. There is a lot that goes with being successful in SEO, most sometimes will not try to utilize it. Even some of those who try to tackle it may not understand it well enough to make it work the way they want. So Beyond SEO What else do those who lack the information needed to run a successful SEO campaign have to use? It depends on your budget. Little to no budget? Consider free traffic exchanges, posting useful and informative responses on forums, exchanging links with webmasters who own like content websites, FFA safe list sites, and writing articles. These are all great resources to use and most are free. If you have a budget, you can use the paid versions of traffic exchanges, google adwords, buying adspace on established websites. Paying produces quicker results, but its the free tools like writing articles and posting in forums that will be most affective, resulting in long lasting effects. Just keep in mind the more tools you use in your traffic gaining goals the more successful you will be. John Guanzon
The content is the most important part of any site, also it is necessary to receive many external links. Social networks and Blogs will add quite good result. The quite good result can be received if to make on a site competitions with prizes... etc.

Having unique content is a good way to get visitors to your site. You can either write articles yourself or have them written for you. Then submit them to the articles directories. Also, exchanging links with other sites help. Posting helpful answers on forums and to sites like Yahoo Answers helps also. In this way, you get links and search engine exposure. You just have to be diligent...
