    I agree with OP that these repetitive threads do get annoying, but there is no solution to this problem.

    I know I keep mentioning Digg but they are ahead on this topic. When you submit something there it matches the title with existing ones, similar to how VB has "similar threads" - but they only show after submitting. They should be shown before final submit.
