When I was a beginner to webmaster field, I used binhoster free hosting service and I ran my sites more than one year with them for free without problems excepts few down times.

000webhost is one free web hosting service that I know and tried, so far it served me well before when I made my first website for fun and learning. But actually, if the website that you are making is used to carry out your business online, Paid Hosting is best since it can provide more support and your site's needs :)

Be careful, I know of a friend who used free/cheap webhosting and got himself into a bit of bother!

    123freeserver.com
    or
    cd1a.com

    both are pretty good.
sometimes i think they are better than hostgators paid services.

id recommend cd1a because of the short subdomain, gets frustrating to have yourwebsite.verylongdomain.com be your free site.

Yes do be careful, many places will offer you free hosting only to phish your info and can ruin your business and personal identity.

I've used 000webhost in the past with good results, altough very bad support. If you are starting and just want to test things, try that one.

i haven't tried these my sell but i herd eblogger and Wordpress them selfs bother offer good and free hosting. with the option to use your own domain but of course you would have to pay for that from theme(if they sell them) or else where. But i Do recommend switching to paid hosting once your sites are gaining quite a bit of traffic and/or problems with the free host like downtime

One free web hosting that I know is 000webhost, they are serving me well before. But what is your site for? Free hosting is good for starters who builds their site for fun and learning , you cant expect the best results just enough to keep you rolling. But for professionals to carry our their businesses online Paid Hosting is better since it gives more support to your needs. :)

Personally, I would go for a paid web hosting like bluehost which allows us to host multiple wordpress sites for free. Another words, you just need to pay once even though you want to host 10 wordpress sites.
For quick installation of Wordpress, you can use a tool called SimpleScript which available in bluehost.

    Cheers!

i personally recommend you to use paid hosting instead of free Hosting because on free hosting we can't assure a stable service / security . if our website down for few hours or hacked we can't do anything and this will cause to lose Traffic and revenue.
