It's not the future, but it is a good way to increase your CTR. The one thing that will be in future for sure it's Authorship and mark-up associated with it.

Microdata is one of the best way to add some colors to your search position in SERP's by adding some more value.
I.e by adding this you will be added some more weight to your site. So google will easily index and produce in SERP"s..

You can associate the pages that you have authored with your G+ Profile page and Google may begin showing your picture next to your SERP results.
You can assoicate all pages to a G+ Company Page for your website as "Publisher".

It will increase CTR too because your URL looks more descriptive and appealing compare to others in SERP.

 

To elaborate a bit on what Amit0535 said: When Google search results display a page with your authorship info, your image appears next to it. Some speculate that this image may get a higher CTR on your SERP even if it's listed lower down below ones that do not have authorship images.

To associate your G+ profile with your pages, add your Author tag to your Page(s) - this can be done many ways (Google for more info).
In your Google+ Profile, add your website as "contributor to"

I have seen some google result having their image, reviews and likes with them.

I did it for my blog also and when i checked with it rich snipping test tool -it says OK.

Now i do this process around 8-10 days before. Still google has not applied rich snippet on my results.

This is because your profile picture of G+ is not a real human face.You must use a profile picture with recognizable headshot.

 

Is it?? I have used my company's logo in the profile picture but the profile is my personal profile. Am I doing something wrong with this??

 

You can't use your compony's logo in the profile picture for this , instead of logo use your own picture.
