I award this Best Post of 2013!

Video mocks celeb participants of gun control PSA
One gun rights supporter who took issue with a recent celebrity-filled gun control PSA has posted a now-viral video response that puts the spotlight on what he calls a “hypocritical industry.”

Late last month, Mayors Against Illegal Guns posted a video PSA on YouTube that featured a host of famous faces — including Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, Beyonce, Michelle Williams, and Amy Poehler – calling for stricter gun control laws, and it has, to date, received over 6.3 million views. Just days ago, YouTube user “Mike Hunt,” who declined to provide his real name and claims not to have any affiliations, posted his own video — a parody of the original that was edited to include many of the same actors in fictional gun-filled situations.

If you watch one YouTube video this year, watch this one!

Oh, hey, somebody help me out here, what political party do Hollywood celebrities support with mindless obedience? Anyone? Anyone? Oh, gee, what political party does Hollywood throw fundraisers for? Anyone? Anyone?

I'm guessing it's the Dems, but, as keeping guns off the crazy people (gun control) is the only sensible approach, who could blame them?

Bushranger, when you look at the Democratic party, there is a huge difference between what they SAY, and what they DO. I can say the same for the Republicans, except in my opinion the difference is smaller - or maybe I'm biased.

My defining moment for the Dems and government power was Obama's first two years. With the Dems controlling both houses, look at what they accomplished - or, rather, what they did NOT accomplish.

What makes the Tea Party so scary to Washington is that, at their core, the Tea Party demands that politicians keep their campaign promises. This frightens both parties.

Bushranger, you and I can disagree, but I think we both want to see our government do the right thing. In the end, when it comes to gun control, the 2nd Amendment cannot be bargained with. We can't just throw up our hands and say "Oh, it's the other party's fault", we need a solution that in consistent with the U.S. Constitution.

At Columbine, if I remember correctly there was an off-duty Sheriff's deputy as the armed guard. He shot at those punks from 60 feet away, and missed. He has to live with that guilt for the rest of his life.

It's easy to criticize for the one moment an armed off-duty police officer failed to prevent a tragedy, but I believe that there are many, many times that an off-duty police officer at schools saved children's lives

Who in the hell "blamed Hollywood"?

    Anyways...

Yep, a practice what you preach moment, at it's finest!

They have no problem hiring armed security guards as well!! Very convenient.

You mean apart from the head of NRA who made a recent, now infamous speech blaming Hollywood?

    or

Do you not read what YOU post?

Here is another pic for you:

    "Infamous speech"? Not really.

What I find to be absurd is that Hollywood can't be blamed, because all they have to do is make a couple of sound clips speaking out against guns and they are proclaimed to be innocent! It's amazing!

Gotta keep those Hollywood lips glued to the backside of the Libs.

Um, are they practicing their freedom of speech via "their movies with guns" and "hiring of armed guards"?

File this under You Can't Make This Shit Up:

Newspaper That Printed Gun Owner Names Hires Armed Guards

The Journal News, which covers Rockland, Westchester, and Putnam Counties in New York, published the names and addresses of gun owners in the area. This has angered people in the area guns, as well as local police departments, because they basically made it easier for criminals to discover homes they can burglarize without resistance.

That's the way it happens frequently. A gun is produced, never fired, and crisis is averted.
If it'd been a "gun free zone" the outcome might have been much uglier.

And another story in today's news... in Georgia: [LINK]
Ex-con breaks into a home with a crowbar, and finds the mother and her children in the crawl-space where they've quickly hidden as they heard him breaking in. The mom fires 6 shots with a .38 handgun, striking him 5 times.

Proposed laws, purportedly designed to protect the innocent, would leave the young mother with no gun... to do what?

Physically fight hand to hand a male ex-convict to save herself / her children from harm?

She shot the guy 5 times and he didn't die. How much chance do you think she had in a boxing match with him?

    "Help me, I'm dying"
At the end of this story, the cops found the man wounded, trying to get away. "Help me, I'm dying..." he told them.
Would the story have been more "enlightened" if there were no gun, and the police had arrived to find the mother and the children saying this?

Sounds like a perfect argument for higher capacity magazines. Hell, more than likely she was using a revolver.

She should have taken the time to reload and put one between his eyeballs. Depending on the state, this guy might just turn around and file suit.

    Let's get into this:
Cops: Mother of two surprises intruder with five gunshots
To liberals, it would so well serve their world view if the intruder killed the mother and children and they were just a statistic.

But the MSM won't touch this. Why? FOX!

Georgia mom home alone with kids shoots ex-con intruder

Protecting her children with a gun, to liberals, is an inconvenient truth.

Here is another. The police can protect you. Major natural disasters are often followed by looting, Katrina being a recent example. The LA riots another, minus the natural disaster. When the thugs are roaming the streets, raping and pillaging, the police have their hands full if they aren't cowering in the corners, or in the case of Katrina, participant to the looting.

These events are not ancient history, they are recent. You don't buy fire insurance for your home based on the fact that most homes don't burn to the ground. You buy it so that you don't become a victim if and when it does.

When our debt to GDP ratio hits 200% and our currency is trading 1 to 1 with the Somali shilling, people will be looking back fondly on the peaceful days of the LA riots.

You know, that thug in Georgia (Paul Slater, see below) should sue his local newspaper for not publishing the names and addresses of people with guns.

If they had, he would have broken into another home and now his face wouldn't look like a White Castle hamburger.
