If you need a start button then have a look at "Start 8" from Stardock
It's paid but looks gorgeous and goes pretty well with the new OS

And there is a close X on every window in the normal desktop mode but you won't find the 'X' in the ModernUI,that's the whole point of this new design.I won't consider that as a Con but can be really annoying for the first couple of days

I'm hearing mixed opinions about it. For me, it's no good. I used it on a friend's laptop and the whole tablet thingy on it didn't appeal to me. I felt like I'm using a tablet. Windows 7 is much better.

it's of course more powerful then 7, but desktop and laptop users cannot enjoy the application wholly since it is designed specially for touchscreen.

I normally will wait till the first patch is available before I jump into upgrading Windows 8. That way, I know that most of the errors and bugs will be resolved. I've seen the preview, it is very impressive.

Windows 8. Maybe it's because I am open-minded but I love it. Fast boot-up and a great UI once you get used to it.

I like Windows 8. It's boots faster than Win 7 and i like the UI.
Though, I'm not attracted with the start screen yet, since maybe I'm not even using a touch screen laptop.
But I installed Start8 to get that Windows 7 start menu feeling back :)
