What experience have people had with running proxies? Good...bad..? I have just had my host suspend my account, and tell me I had to remove my proxies before they let me back on it :/ So...I did. Currently looking for a decent host (not to pricey...) to host me proxies on. Any suggestions greatly appreicated!
Mine are hosted on a dedicated server from 1paket, costs me $75 a month. You really should go dedicated with proxy websites
Yes....although $75/m is quite steap. if you don't mind me asking...what return do you get on your adsense from your proxies? I take it it well covers the hosting costs?
I run a proxy on my own server, the issue with proxies is that they use up a lot of server resources especially if they get a lot of hits, and since most host run shared servers you'll run into problems with finding web host that will allow you to run a proxy site. My suggestion find a VPS or dedicated server since it would give you more freedom over what you can run on them.
I use it on my server with no problems but sometimes it overloads when it recieve alot of hits revenue is not much as ads are not blended well i am working on new template in which ads will be blended Saad
In my guide (www.proxyguide.org) I recommend www.tektonic.net for VPS and www.managemybox.com for Dedicated
Server4sale.com allow proxies. No IRC though. Browse this topic www dot webhostingtalk dot com/showthread.php?t=558428 I have spend this week browsing all kind of dedicated hosting company to find a new host. Their price is hard to beat with the configuration they offer. Just sharing, no affiliate with them PS: still can't post a live link

Any idea why there seems to be an unlimited amount of website proxies yet there are limited failure stories? Why don't visitors mainly go to a select few sites?
May be because ppl always sold their proxy site before it go down the hill when it got lots of users and use up server resource. It's easy to build a proxy site but hard to build a reliable proxy site that can serve lots of users. Thanks for the rep ian
