    hi,

am i the only ony one who finds this kind of posts pointless? its annoing to browse any trade-forum here and skip 10-20 "pm me the info!", "send me the url!", "i sent you a pm!" posts in each thread.
just my 2 cents, maybe someone can do something about if more people agree here...

i agree totally and have voiced my opinion on this numerous times. It is a waste of people's time, and now when I see it I simply just skip the thread which is a shame, because it might actually be something beneficial for me:(

It's actually not a waste of time at all. Posts of that kind are usually seen in the Buy/Sell or Trade section of DP and if there are no posts like that, the giving and receiving of an i-trader is not possible. i-trader is even more important than Rep because in is your rating in deals you have made. :)

I understand when people request for an info or url but, when someone posts "Submitted my url :)" or something similar, I think it's plain retarded.....

Check Shawn's post here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1828045&postcount=11. As I read it I-trader is now available via PM.

Smyrl is right. I had noticed this feature earlier today when I was reading through my pm's.

    The
gets to be like the directory owners who thanks everyone every other post for their submission.

Shannon I think the Post you have mentioned above is regarding "iTrader" to be made visible in the PM and thus nullifying the need of viewing it by having to view the profiles page, there is nothing mentioned about the PM's being used for giving out itrader feedback. Correct me if I am wrong..

I think we should create a poll who's in favor on these "type of post". Who knows DP moderator won't allow it in future.

This has been discussed a lot of times and it is against TOS (post padding).

If you see someone posting 20 'PM me' the messages in one day just use the report post feature and appropriate action would be taken against them.

I do find them stupid as well and it just makes me not wanting to do business with the OP. If you're selling something, what's the point of withholding crucial info. The only exception would be a domain name - to preserve DMOZ etc. listings but the rest should all be posted IMO so at least we can make up our minds about whether we actually want to spend time enquiries or not. I tend to tell them how I think about their sale with rep.

Yeah, some of the "brightest" members think they can withhold some important info in order to justify their bumps later by posting things like "Oh, by the way, the site also has blah blah blah".

:) i am guilty of posting on threads asking for the url or info to be sent via pm, but the member behind the thread post is mostly to blame he or she is asking members to post here for info  , here is one for example now 3 pages long and not one reply to say the service has been bought or whatever
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=177964

after nearly every reply by a member the thread starter is asking agin and agin for people to reply here .

in my opinion ( not worth much :) ) the person who starts these sort of threads should be getting reported , cheers karl
