    Hi guys,

I am not 100% sure if this is the correct section for getting your opinion. I have been trying very hard to find a good, real, honest, knowledegable SEO company.

I found this company (websiteoptimization {dot} com) and just wanted to know what you guys think about it, even if you have never heard of it and wouldn't want to pay for it. Would you even consider it ?

    The SEO companys website stats:
    PR - 7
    Goog BLs - 376
    Yahoo BLs - 5,589
    MSN BLs - 5,592
    Alexa Rank - 6064

It seems pretty decent, but the sad thing is that SEO companies these days are falling in the same sterotype category as lawyers and car salesmen. You just don't know if you should trust or not.

    looking forward to your opinions.

    Thanks,
    Charlee

I think you can better hire some personals from this forum who are here from long and providing their services. There are many good people here who runs SEO companies.

There are plenty of questions you can ask them before getting started. Talk with previous/current clients and see about rankings. Do a little background check on their clients and see if you can see any shady type of stuff going on.

On the other hand, you can contact Rand over at www.SEOmoz.org and he has a good list of SEO's he refers people to (he's probably booked, but try his referrals).

PR usually means link popularity , SEO is much more than that .Go through their previous clients and look at their position before you decide ..

They obviously appreciate the value of text judging by their website. Look, not quite sure what you are asking. If you are looking for a good SEO than I think we are very good (fatpublisher [dot] com ) - apologies for 'blowing our own trumpet'

Agree. Also make sure you read the contract carefully if you decide to go with them. If they're promising unbelievable stuff, chances are they won't be met.

I'd be more impressed by looking at their results for their current clients than by their PR or number of backlinks that they have.

I suggest that you ask for the companies portfolio. And if possible search for feedback about them.

Man.. you folks are 2 nice

I would run screaming... they are a mess.

There is barely a mention of SEO ....
Their SEO services include PPC ( a good SEO knows the difference)
In the SEO Books section there are 2 affiliate books.. niether of which I have heard of ( Aarons would be a good start )

It just doesn't come across as a knowledgable SEO firm...

    I say keep looking :D

that's not a competitive term though is it?

Like I said, they need a tune up.. certainly not top flight... They can make your website FASTER though apparently... Like they have lumped in Site Optimization with Search Engine optimizaation... probably cause SEO had the word OPTIMIZATION in it or something....

Thanks alot for your opinions guys,

So in other words, this company would be OK if you want to get your sites speed up but not the best choice for SEO. And, like many have said in this forum and others, that SEO is not just 'Link Building', even though that might be the most important. For example, Andy Hagans is a pretty reputable guy and he offers link building but I don't think thats full SEO.

Correct me if I'm worng, but arent there 2 parts to SEO, 1) the part where you fix up the site itself, like the speed, link structure, titles, alt tags, content, etc. 2) the popularity factors like one way links, forum links, directory links, articles, press releases, submitting RSS feeds, Submiting site maps etc. let me know if I got it right.

Have a look at the latest "Must Read" story on my site

    www.ThrillaMilla.com

I was thinking the same thing as you but got some good advice from a respected source.

Let me know what you think after you read the story.

    Respectfully,

Ok i think you should have at least 3 options to choose from.

That their website seems to be ok it doesn't warranty that they will attend your website as their site.

Probably you must see their achieve in a very competitive area. Then what are the conditions, and finally and probably the most important what you can get.

    Thanks everybody for your feedback,

So this company 'websiteoptimization [dot] com' would be fine for getting site Architecture and speed optimized ! but not for "web marketing" for organic results. correct !

Finding a SEO for WebMarketing is a hard thing, since you can never know for sure of the ability, honesty and methods of the SEOs you find. But if a SEO has a certain amount of credibilty in the field, for example 'Bruce Caly' or anybody else that people might consider a known SEO, they would ofcourse charge a higher price, but isn't it better to pay more if you can and know that you are working with a good company and feel comfortable. Even thogh the cost is high, it must bring in equal sales once things start working !

let me know your thoughts on this guys.

I heard bruce clay charges alot. If an seo charges alot how can u possibly make ur moeny back before a few years. It makes no sense . I spent 5 k on an seo in california who im still trying to get the site back from him taht he never transferred ownership back to me. plus he didnt perform what he set out to perform. Most of these so called experts usually have someone thatthey outsource to anyway who they take the credit for.
