If you had $5000 to invest online...

Okay, here's a question for you guys.

If you were on a budget of $5,000. What would you do to make the most return, especially with the following decisions:

How many sites would you make/domains would you buy?
What would you do for hosting (dedicated server/monthly)?
How much would you invest in developing those site(s)?
How much would you dedicate to advertising?
What advertising would you pay for (PPC, submissions, etc)?

Also, would you use any of the human resources that DP has such as paying people for site submissions, paying for myspace bulletins, paying for banner/logo designs.

I look forward to your replies.

I have always diversified my assets into multiple sites, however I will soon be changing to a one site focus. Much easier to manage, focus on, and develope.

I was just speaking in general terms, to receive as much revenue as possible, in say, the second month.

Another good question Blanket, What market would you join? I was conemplating proxies, but I'm finding that it's hard to recoup the large server costs... your thoughts?

Drig, how big is the one site you'll be focusing on?

I would not invest the monies online. Rather, I would invest the monies into a physical business. i.e. A Franchise (when you get more monies).

Would you be able to pass on you're business plan drig? that sounds like the amount that I'd be looking to invest, I just don't know what percentage should be allocated to advertising vs. development vs. hosting etc.

The main thing you should be worrying about is what to promote, without that you can not work out your finances - Different markets require different advertising/designing budgets.

I'd recommend finding something to promote, that you are interested in! (That makes life/business more fun if you are in a sector that you enjoy!)

Then re-post another thread asking "I want to promote xxxxx, what budget do I need and where do you think I should advertise"

Finding profitable products/services to promote on-line is not easy! Ideally, find a niche in a popular market!

    Good luck!
