Broken link checker

Discussion in 'WordPress' started by journeyoftheanimals, Dec 8, 2012.

I have a website that is based on wordpress and I recently found out I have quite few broken links on my site. I think many of these are links to other sites from mine. I want to try to find an easy to understand broken link checker so I can start removing them. It does not matter to me much what kind of program it is as long as it works. It can be a plugin, stand alone program or whatever. Thank you in advance for the help with this.

I have been using broken link checker for WordPress, for some time now and find it works really well. The plug-in is very straightforward to use and shows in your back-office when you have a broken link and also emails you, hope this helps!

For lazy webmasters, plugigng your website into Google's webmaster tools will help you do this and even receive notifications when new site related error messages pop up... I think I am right about the notifications... I don't have them turned on myself but I do use the WMT service and find it helpful.

If you're using WordPress then go ahead and use Broken Links Checker plugin. It just works out of the box + checks for broken links periodically to let you fix them when needed.
No need for any other tool.
