Take your time, do a good job with your submission and then hope for luck.

    Hi,
I confirm it may take a long time ... or never appear in the directory !
    Just submit and wait ...

I never find that submission method very reliable !

@silencer > very good concept: 1) do quality submission 2) forget about it. 2nd step probably takes much longer time but will guaranty no time's wasted

Yes Submit and Forget...I did the same and got 2 of my sites listed at DMOZ

SEO masters should understand that DMOZ is not just another directory, editors are the volunteers, for them its a hobby to maintain a particular category. I followed the guidelines and submitted accordingly.
Patience is the key here :)

This ^^ Might want to get a link on a site that's actually going to get some clicks on. It may take a while for somebody to find your site on the directory (and it might take a while to get listed), so don't stress yourself out about it. Submitting is easy. Some of the directory categorys' admins are really busy, while others are just eager to have a submission. I was always eager to get a submission when I volunteered on ODP (I had a lonely and small category) lol.
    That's not been my experience.

Just curious, what kind of site are you submitting?
