You don't need a dedicated server at the beginning. It will be a waste of money. Start from shared hosting and when your site is getting bigger and getting more traffic, upgrade the hosting to VPS and then to Dedicated sever.

Yes, I totally agree you should start with shared hosting. There are many good companies who provide shared hosting you can choose one of them. I suggest you do your own research for your own needs.

When you'll really need a dedicated server for a site with domain registration coupons, you'll be one of the richest DP users :) Start with a shared host. A good shared host can handle a few thousands visits/day.

    Hello,

Yes, shared server is good to start up, but dedicated is always better that shared, in the sense of speed, up-time and load as compared to shared.
Managed dedicated server can price from $100-$150 per month and for per year it can be $1100-$1800. Location of the server may also affect the cost. So its also depends on the location where you go with.

Why not start on shared hosting? Unless you plan on going from 0 hits to 1,000,000 hits overnight, a dedicated server is overkill at the beginning. If you are set on a dedi, then I'd recommend:

    - Joe's Datacenter (Unmanaged)
    - RackSpace (Managed)
    - LiquidWeb (Managed)
    - Wholesale Internet (Unmanaged)
    - Firehost (Managed)

Joe's DC and Wholesale are unmanaged, but are the cheapest providers you'll find on the web that are reputable. Both of the lower end companies have excellent reputations and uptime (I was a Joe's Datacenter customer a year ago, and I've heard good words about WII).

Shared hosting is not flexible. I would suggest you start with a dedicated cloud server before you move to a dedicated server. Dedicated cloud servers are cheaper than dedicated servers, a cloud server gives you full control of a server so you can do whatever you want.

For a low cost provider you could go with Hetzner or Hivelocity.

The higher end providers are like Softlayer, Ubiquity, ServerBeach.

Dear Hussain, You definitely don't need a dedicated server at this stage. You can host a coupon code website on a shared hosting for a longer duration. If you consider a dedicated server you might won't be able to justify its cost in the initial stages. Once you start making more money at that point you should think of moving onto a dedicated server.

You know, if a Hosting Company is saying unlimited bandwidth or space they were obviously overselling because no host is going to put in another $200 Hard drive for a $5 customer.

It's not as simple as that either. You can't just put in a hard drive, especially in RAID configurations. You'll likely have to replace the whole set and rebuild the raid etc...
