A good start would be to join a PPC Program and bring in traffic with as little $0.00 as possible in order to at least start getting your site some traffic and it will be genuine targeted traffic, which will, in turn help with your overall traffic quality...

 

first you can improve your site content and than build backlinks you will see results this.

 

i would say get your own domain and then go for traffic boost.

I think he/she is looking for free ways to drive traffic to their site. The best advice would be to buiold some quality, relevant links to your site.

 

Link baiting is basically where you create content that is useful to other internet users (such as free programs) and then request a backlink (or hardcode one) into the footer of the program, so whenever somebody uses your program, they will create backlinks for you!

 

How about articles and viral reports?

 

create a few example scripts such as guestbooks or forum plugins and submit them to script sites like hotscripts. This will not only get you plenty of backlinks but get you some traffic as well.

 

submit video tutorials series to YOUTUBE.com nothing else.

 

You did not specify if you have a budget or only looking for no cost methods. If no budget submit press releases to online PR sites. Postal mail, fax or hand deliver press releases to local newspapers. You should also study your competitors and see what traffic building and marketing methods they're using. Analyze their site thoroughly. Look for media news they're putting out. Are they using PPC? Where else are they advertising? As a programmer I don't think you'll need tons of traffic to make a profit. So you should also be focusing on finding customers directly via networking and word-of-mouth.

 

Hand out free guides or start posting on relevant forums with a link in your sig. Either of those could bring in a lot of highly targeted traffic.
