I'm interested in trying classified ads as a method to generate traffic, but I have a few questions. How often do you post ads with any one site? It seems most of them are organized by city, so do you post an ad every day in a different city? Forgive my ignorance, but I need some help to get the hang of this.

Most classifieds today are ripe of spam. They do not tell you where a seller is from or whether the posting is genuine or spam. There needs to be some regulation around this. Selldude Classifieds is one of the site which allows you to view seller's country of post and makes it very evident on its listing pages. It used to have this feature where one could only post in the city where the seller was at any given time. They are working on reimplementing it and some new Anti-Spam features.

If Spam and Scam is taken care of, then classifieds pose tremendous value for anybody wlling to sell used or new items . Classifieds typically means advertisment by individuals who do not own a business. But it varies based on the countries and understanding of the people. Advertisements and Classifieds are two different things but most people do not get it.

Honestly, I have never been a huge fan of using classified ads to promote my product.
