If I am using a wordpress blog, will the categories I setup automatically be used as technorati tags and your blog posts will be featured on the technorati tag pages relevant to the specific category you blogged in? If this is true, then what is the point in adding additional technorati tags to your blog post pages? I would imagine most of the traffic generated from technorati would be from the broad category tags, and not the more obscure tags? Or maybe not
Yes the category you place your post in will show up in technorati as a tag. People place the extra technorati tags in their posts to give readers more choices of finding related topics which in turns looses the visitor from the site after they finish reading the post.
Yeah if you want, I don’t use them. You can get tag plug-ins for the back end of WP instead of having so many categories.
Well, it depends. You could have a category called mobile phones, however, a tag name Cingular BlackJack might be more appropriate if you just wrote a post specifically about the Cingular BlackJack. If you are worried about vistors leaving your site via tags, use a plugin such as Ultimate Tag Warrior where this can be controlled.
You don't have to lose anything as you can link the tags below your post to anywhere with tags. If you really want to be creative you just link them like below http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?tag=tagname Cheers.
I use custom feeds with the tags already in place so I'm not sure which plugin does that. They might have to be hacked or something.
