Congratulations I've currently got about $2000 worth of stock in a large insurance company. Was considering purchasing some shares in Microsoft and profiting via the short term, however I don't think I'll do that anymore.
Congratulations and good luck! Be aware it is a very harsh and tough 'game'! I lost around $5000 in stocks, but I sure would like to try again some time.
Definitely a very tough and harsh game, but most definitely a very rewarding one. I originally bought my stocks for $2.30. They are now about $5.66. I guess I got lucky. Takes a bit of study and research to get the right company though.
JKhoury keep up the good work, but be aware that something similar happened to me, I was happy seeing my stocks going up slowly day after day and then suddently in a few hours they crashed down like crazy! I hope this dosen't happen with you, but always keep on monitoring your stocks
Thanks very much . I guess that's just one of the dangers of the stock market - everything you make might not be there the next day. However there are some exciting rewards for those who things the right way and who are lucky. One golden rule I've learned is that, doing things the right way isn't the only factor in succeeding.. You need to be lucky too.
Great concept you got there. You seem to have an error though, 'Notice: SSI.php was unable to load a session! This may cause problems with logout and other functions - please make sure SSI.php is included before *anything* else in all your scripts! in /home/thetechn/public_html/forum/SSI.php on line 158' It's up at the top of the page.. Just thought I should let you know.
i have just brought it as investment, instead of keeping money idle its better to invest. will be trading slowly in quantity
Not necessarily. You won't have the flexibility of trading on small gains, but larger moves in the stock price won't affect you much with commissions. TradeKing is a good discount brokerage. They will eat you alive on penny stocks though. *shameless plug* If you ever decide to venture into the land of options, check out OptionsBuddy.com.
Are you sure you want to "invest" in a samll, technology company? Why not go for a stable, blue chip with a high dividend yield?
Define high dividend yield? If you are looking at dividend stocks, check out Canadian Energy Trusts. PVX, AAV to name a couple...
Some of you mentioned TradeKing and SogoInvest. I know their price is very competitive. But I thought the same about ShareBuilder, until I signed up with ShareBuilder. I then noticed ShareBuilder charges like 15 bucks for real-time and limit orders. Does TradeKing and SogoInvest does the same? Do they charge you more for these special orders? I was thinking about Scottrade for they seem to provide a very impressive investing and research tool for 7 bucks. TDameritrade sounds interesting too. What you guys think?
I have both TradeKing and Scottrade. Scottrade has a nice realtime java tracker. TradeKing is cheaper. TradeKing also has a lot of single commission functions that allows you to sell covered calls, straddles, etc without having to pay multiple commissions. Only issue is that you have to pay market, not limit orders. Neither have inactivity fees.
If you own 100 shares of RMBS, you can hedge your position with some RMBS options. The 22.50's have a nice return.
