I've just become the latest victim of the ongoing cyber-warfare taking place in the twitterverse. my account was just . "suspended for sending multiple unsolicited mentions to other users". since I'm still a newbie to twitter, I have no idea what this is, or what I can do about it! :( .Can anyone please explain it to me?. Help! I'm lost without twitter :(

You can just click on "suspended account" link and follow the instruction; if this is the first time usually they can reinstate you account immediately; sometimes twitter suspend account when it looks like is robot the one who is posting. you can also reply from the email they sent you and apologize if you made something against the rules. hope this helps

Hey buckplus, I didn't get an email from twitter yet, and I still don't know what "multiple unsolicited mentions" actually means. Also the suspended-account document is quite a piece of work. In order to be immediately reinstated I have to confess to bad behavior and malicious tweeting, in effect admitting that I am a troll who abuses the rules. sorry, but I can't do that. :(

That email was sent automatically. Just like the person above mentioned you will need to actually contact a support person to resolve the issue. Just tell them that you're not sure what's going on and that you have never sent those mentions.

sorry to hear that.. I believe twitter does that when your account has acted like it was controlled by a bot or have been posting stat simultaneously. Or are you using another application so you can access the website? That happens too. Also, if one of your posts were reported or marked as spam or was flagged. I don't know really, not so sure about it.

Just try sending a message to twitter support team to help you with this concern. Hope this would be solved soon.

Hello, everyone. Today is my fifth day of being suspended from twitter ... which means that i can look at all the timelines BUT i can't tweet anything ... which means that i can't touch my various beloved lady-friends ... which is sheer torture (not to put too fine a point on it)!
    .
So anyway, this is my second suspension. the first was about a year ago. this time i didn't get an email from twitter, but i assume it's for the same reason, namely "for sending multiple unsolicited mentions to other users" which, apparently, is very bad, "Plus, it bothers other users!"
    .
Yes, that's the problem, i fear. i like to dialogue too much. even with people who block me. even with people who *really* don't like me. So, for example, i'll see a nice tweet and i'll incorporate it into another tweet:
    .
Shannon<3 say: "His absence has her sadness silenced. #sixwords" ~ wurm replies: aww, babe, i'm so sorry. *hugs-you*tightly* ~<3
    .
Like that, see? I do that kind of thing quite a bit. and i've done even worse things than that! :(

It's not rocket science... if you make lots of tweets which reference another user and the tweets are all pretty much the same and probably contain a link then you look like a spammer. Bot or human? doesn't matter.

This makes me think that maybe you're a stalker... get back on your meds :)

Actually, I'm not a spammer or a stalker. that series of tweets gives a false impression of what happened.
I didn't even see RC's reply there until days later. that is, not until *after* she said I was stalking and harassing her.
bad-timing is what I'm all about, sarahk.
rest assured that had I seen her tweet earlier I would have respected her decision and left her alone.
I certainly don't mean to force my attention upon anyone who doesn't want it!
So don't jump to unwarranted conclusions based upon scanty evidence.
If you invest the time to check out my timeline you'll see that I usually mean what I say :)

I am surprised that they permanently banned you. I'd email them again. More often than not, if you tell them that you didn't do anything wrong, in your opinion, they take the ban off your account. You will have to agree with the Terms of Use again to get your account back.

One of my mods, a couple months ago, emailed 3 people with the same message and the account got temp. suspended. I emailed them, told about what happened and we were back in business 3 days after the incident.

Hello, quikad. I haven't emailed them about it because they didn't email me.
I'm not sure what I did wrong (specifically), but it's no accident of any kind, I'm sure.
This is my second suspension don't forget, so (you know) there's that.
And I'm assuming that it takes three strikes to get banished from the twitterverse forever.
So what's this talk about me being "permanently banned" eh?
Heck, it's only been nine days :)

I can only see what I get by searching on your username - in other words how people respond to you.

I think maybe you should focus on real world encounters and work on your social skills.

It's true that my social-skills are very poor, but I consider every encounter a Real-World encounter; for there are real people behind all those twitter accounts (even some of the "phoney" ones). I know this and respect this.
    .
... as to how people are responding to my banishment, I'm seeing a lot of tweeps are missing me, and I'm seeing a lot of "Light & Love" tweets for my plight. for example:
    .
4jan: ~-RT > Dani @Cheetoe4 say: The love from people, you don't even know, speaks volumes.
    .
that's a genuine tweet, sarahk. check it out if you don't believe me. I don't what you're looking at, but this is the kind of thing I'm seeing a lot of on the timelines I visit.

ummm, yeah, I see what you mean, sarahk ...
subtweets are tricky to interpret correctly because you never really know *who* the intended subject is.
what can I say? it's just something that you have to feel inside your heart.
    .
anyway, about this blog idea of yours: can you perhaps suggest a good blog-site for me? :)

You have some serious issues, by dear boy. If they name you, it's about you. If they don't, it's not.

here's a few you may have already heard of
    • blogger.com
    • wordpress.com
    • tumblr.com <-- was a blogging site long before teenage girls took over and made it all about images

Thanks for being so graciously unwelcoming, sarahk. deleting my tweets is unforgivable, but i'll let it slide just because you're such a fine lady :)
    .
As for your comment "If they don't, it's not." > hahaha, obviously you have no idea how subtweeting works.
If you actually name the subject then it can't be a subtweet, now can it? :) ~ #Logic
    .
Anyway, thanks again for your help. I'll just be taking my valueless-postings elsewhere now. bye

Twitter doesn't seem to mind if you have multiple accounts as long as they're all for a purpose. You just have to be careful for what you use them.

I can't delete tweets. I have no authority on Twitter itself.

If you are referring to the thread you started in the requoting a whole lot of tweets but without raising any business and marketing type of discussion then, really, what did you expect? What response did you want from the members here? I'm starting to think you're all about the drama.
