Does anybody know what the rule is on curse words in conjunction with adsense ads? Anybody ever been banned for having a potty mouth?

    Interesting question.
Emailing Google is pretty good advice, then please report back and let us know what they said. :)

If it's a forum then you should rather filter such words from the ACP. I don't think it's allowed in any way if the site is promoting racism or such.

Yeah, let us know what they say.. I recall reading that they dont allow 'excessive' foul language on any pages with Adsense..

Since i'm a yellow-blooded chicken with GoogleBanAphobia, I filter anything even close to a bad word, and automatically replace them with words like "poo-poo" and "mean woman", or "updstanding afro-american gentleman" .. (can you guess the words?)

Based upon experience, I know they allow a nominal amount of cursing on a page. The point at which this could become excessive is hard to say (and a nickel says their response won't give you an exact number, either).

I would imagine that 'hateful' and racist language would be far more egregious than the occasional f____.

Any update on this, or anyone have any comments? I run some forums where I allow cursing and the members really like the idea that they can use foul language. They'd be pretty upset if I took the cursing away (we discussed it). It's not excessive by any means, the mods handle any of that, but an occassional curse here and there.

Also, anyone have any insight on what this may do to Google's natural listings? Has anyone experienced first hand Google doing any foul language filtering in natural results?
